This is my first and last time I will be ordering from Sunrize Donuts. I live out of state and had placed an online order through DoorDash on Saturday around 3pm for a dozen doughnuts to be picked up the following day (father's day) at 11:20am. I received a call from Sunrize Sunday at 9:55am stating they have run out of doughnuts for the day and that they were closing in 30 minutes. I told them I do not live in the state so I could not pick the order up. I asked if I could see if there was a DoorDash available to pick my order up earlier and the lady said they turned off the DoorDash pickup on their website. She then said she would turn it back on and when I checked the first time someone could pick the order up was 11:40. She then told me that they were closing in 20 minutes. I was in a little shock seeing how I had placed an order the day prior. I'm guessing they never filled my ordered instead sold out and realized they didn't put any back for my order. I'm also not sure why I would be getting a call 30 minutes before they decided to close early stating that they've run out of doughnuts. They could have called me sooner so I could change the DoorDash pickup time (another reason why I think they didn't set aside my order before they sold out). If they in fact did still have my order set aside I'm not too sure why they couldn't have waited for me to arrange the earlier pickup time for the DoorDash. It was not very professional on their part and they didn't seem to care or be apologetic either. Luckily I was able to find a more professional business in the Omaha area to order something special to send to my dad on...
Read moreLet me tell you an incredible story! On Wednesday, July 31st, I placed a decently large order for my company's monthly birthday treats. At 5:30 that night, chaos ensued as a big portion of the city lost power during a violent storm. I was preoccupied with getting home safely and continuing my usual routine, so I didn't think anything about the orders I had placed or if those businesses would have power to fulfill them. It wasn't until 5 am the next morning as I drove through town that I realized the day would probably not go as expected. As I pulled into the strip mall where Sunrize is located, I noticed there was no power to the entire area. As I got out of my car thinking, "Why wouldn't they have called last night to cancel the order?" I was shocked to find an employee sitting outside of the open, dark door of the donut shop with a stack of donut boxes sitting next to him. I learned that they had made the decision to make the order at their sister store in Fremont, then have someone pick them up and get them all the way back to Omaha for me to collect by 6 am! And to top it all off, the entire order was correct and every item we ordered was top-notch quality. I could have eaten a whole box by myself. Exceptional customer service is not something that's readily found these days, but Sunrize completely hit it out of the park for us when it would have been infinitely easier to just cancel the order. From all of us at my company, thank you SO much!! I'll be frequenting your shop every...
Read moreThis is our favorite donut place and have been going here for years. I also don’t usually leave reviews. That being said I cannot understand how they are selling donuts to the public without masks. I walked in this morning and turned around and walked out. The owner obviously has no concern about protecting the employees or the general public or is trying to make a statement. The small local business where I get coffee beans is still only doing curbside and doing great business with the employees all wearing masks at all times. I’m not saying they only need to do curbside, but at least pretend that you care about being responsible for the heath and well being of your paying customers and employees. I guess we will find another establishment that is concerned about being responsible for...
