I dropped into the Tanner's near 120th and Pacific street to catch some football and have a beverage. This is a large place with a sports bar theme. The carpeted floors and and suspended ceiling tiles help dampen the deafening noise that some sports bar have. The table service was prompt and the waitress was friendly. I had the "chicken lips" chickrm tenders, nachos and "Hick o booga" both were served hot and fresh and slightly better than your average bar food. The TVs are numerous (Checkout my photos and videos) No matter which game you're watching, there is not a bad seat in the house. I will be back! ∆ If my review was helpful please click the thumbs up button.

Surprise! Monday is wing night. And we got there early enough for happy hour. Woot woot. Not very busy on a holiday Monday. My drink was good. Hubby got 3 different types of wings and said they were all delicious. I tried the fish and chips, with salad in place of the chips. It was pretty good. Love that they have Dorothy Lynch as a dressing choice.

Chicken wings were amazing, hot beef was told really good. Shrimp tacos were very good the tortilla was very dry and stale only reason I gave a 4. Our waitress was good, friendly just a little distracted & not coming back to the table with silverware, napkins & drinks. But it was still good.

Tanner’s Bar and Grill Review: A Complete Disaster of Service and Integrity

I visited Tanner’s Bar and Grill on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30 PM, hoping for a pleasant meal. What I encountered instead was a masterclass in poor customer service, dishonesty, and a complete lack of accountability.

When we arrived, the main dining area was half-empty, which suggested the staff wasn’t overwhelmed. After sitting for over 15 minutes without being acknowledged, a server finally took our drink and food orders at the same time to avoid further delays. It then took nearly 20 minutes just to get our sodas, followed by an excruciating wait of close to an hour for our food.

When our food eventually arrived, it was incorrect and burnt. The excuse given was that the kitchen was backed up, which somehow also justified getting the order wrong. We asked to speak with a manager, only to be told there was no manager on-site. Shortly thereafter, a man who we identified as the bartender (based on both comments from other customers and watching him work behind the bar) came over, acting as the manager.

This bartender proceeded to lie to us repeatedly. He claimed that our food had only taken 30 minutes to come out, which was blatantly untrue—we had been sitting there for over an hour. He also claimed he personally made our drinks, even though I watched the server prepare them herself. These falsehoods were as unnecessary as they were infuriating.

Ironically, before we could leave, several other customers approached us to share their own poor experiences. They commented on the same bartender, who they also noted was more focused on his phone and chatting with bar patrons than addressing customer concerns. These interactions only reinforced the lack of professionalism and care we had witnessed.

To add insult to injury, another server tossed boxes onto our table for the incorrect and burnt food, expecting us to take it home despite our clear dissatisfaction. The restaurant’s attempt to “make it right” came in the form of a $10 gift card, which felt more like a slap in the face than a genuine apology.

Between the incompetent service, the dishonest bartender masquerading as a manager, and the kitchen’s inability to deliver quality food, it’s safe to say I will never return to Tanner’s Bar and Grill.

Save your time and money—this place isn’t worth either. Tanner’s needs a complete overhaul in management, staff training, and customer service. Until then, avoid it...

We visit Omaha monthly to spend time with family. My wife and I enjoy taking our kids out to supper Friday and Saturday evening. We took 2 cars due to my son has little ones. They arrived minutes earlier and asked for a table for 6. My son was asked within 3-4 minutes where the other 2 were? "We can't hold a table for a long time ". He called us to find where we were. We were walking in the bar at that time. We sat and were waited on by a friendly server. She took our order and brought them out promptly. After she took our food order, I asked a different server who was walking by if 1 of the 22 big screens could be turned to ESPN 2. She stated she would ask the manager but, we only have Cornhusker and Blue Jay games on. That wasn't the truth at all. 2 TVs had the Kentucky vs West Virginia game on which were both in front of the table we were sitting. This server did not return so when our server brought us our meal, I asked her if one of the 22 TVs could be changed to ESPN, she asked who was playing, I told her Notre Dame and Virginia Tech. Right after she asked the bartender, he came over to our table and changed the 2 TVs that were showing Kentucky to the Nebraska game and Creighton games. The server didn't return until she brought us our check. At that point I asked why 1 of the 22 TVs couldn't be turned to ESPN 2. She apologized and just said I don't know why he did that. $100 later we left never to return. The menu wasn't creative, wings and Burgers. There are hundreds of sports bars in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Server was spectacular. This childish action was not her fault. By the way, of the 20 TVs that had Creighton and Nebraska on, There was only a hand full of people actually watching the game. I gave you 2 stars due to our wonderful...

Absolutely terrible!! Waitress was inept- didn’t write down our order and consequently, our food wasn’t as ordered. Had to ask twice to even get lemon for my water. Told her no salt on the fries & tots for both our orders. Fries came with salt on both orders and mine was to have been tots. I told her right away that I had tots. So, she then takes my whole plate back to the kitchen instead of leaving me the sandwich, so I had to sit & wait because she was no where to be found. Then, returns & says the kitchen will have to recook the tots AGAIN because they salted them! I said that I could have been eating my sandwich at this time & she said “ I guess you’re right, I didn’t think of it, sorry.”

Wanted to purchase a gift card for a friend who frequents there ( I don’t know why) and was then told they were out of gift cards. Supposedly, sold 107 of them since 3 days ago! Strongly doubt that one, but whatever!

Waitress said they would give me a credit for the inconvenience, but when we received the bill, there was no credit. I asked about it & they credited the bill $2.00.

Bathroom was dirty and handicapped stall was out of order.

Heard waitress tell another customer that they couldn’t sit outside and be waited on because she was the only one on the floor. I guess the bartender, who was not all that busy, couldn’t help.🤷🏻‍♀️

Management needs to do improvements and training on customer service! Won’t be returning!!!!

The best part of our entire experience was that they played music we love!...
