Listen, I’m new to the Mexican food scene out here in Omaha, and we’re off to a great start here. Coming from the East Coast, I have not had a bad experience yet, but I just had an amazing and awesome experience here at Taqueria Tijuana.
Walk in, it’s a corner spot in South O off of 24th. We walked the stripped and I had asked a few locals what their recommendation would be in the past, and they all, without hesitation or thought said Taqueria Tijuana. If they don’t have to think twice, then I don’t either.
Walked in and immediately seated, menu is pretty simple and has all the favorites. Of course some items like menudo and lengua are set for different daily specials or available on specific days and that’s fine, that’s just an indicator that it’s quality control and it’ll be amazing when I get a chance to go on one of those days.
Anyways, prices are fantastic, about 2.75 a taco and they’re traditional. None of the new age fusion stuff and exotic combos that some places are doing these days. This is actually something I’ve enjoyed about multiple Mexican fare restaurants in Omaha so far, they stick to traditional style.
As I was saying, I got a one carnitas and one asada taco, and a sope asada. The meat was so flavorful and tender in every item, the ingredients were fresh, the guac, cilantro, and onions ratio to meat and spice was perfect. The food came out fast and the food was fantastic.
Belly and heart was full, and off we went to international bakery. If you haven’t been here, it’s worth the drive. You won’t regret it. Great place to grab a quick bite and be in and out in under twenty min. And it only took us that long because we were...
Read moreI just went there and let me tell you the staff is really nice except the owner’s daughter. Instead of being an example to her staff she yelled And belittled me in-front of everyone. We got there and waited for 20 minutes which is normal they were busy I understand. But then the waitress asked if i had been helped and i said no then she went to hand us the menus ,and then the owners daughter told her not to go to our table that we could wait to be served. I don’t know about you but that’s extremely disrespectful. We would have waited of course but the way she said it angered me as she looked straight at us. I Stood up and handed her the menus and told her that she was being disrespectful. She then started yelling and saying for us to leave if we didn’t like what she said . I asked for the manager and she told me it was her and with a grin in her face she said the owners were her parents. I will not go there again and will surely tell anyone about this encounter because she acted so immature and disrespectful. She basically chased us out of the restaurant yelling for us to go if we didn’t like...
Read moreWe Went in for their breakfast burritos a few months ago. Tried calling before we went and no answer (not unusual, they never answer). We called before we went because the last few times we went for the burritos we were told they weren’t available so we wanted to call ahead to confirm. No answer but I REALLY wanted a breakfast burrito so we decided to go. When we arrived we were told the breakfast burritos were not available. We asked to speak to a manager about the breakfast burritos never being available despite being on their menu, just to let them know it was frustrating that this kept happening. The young man that came out was confrontational and rude. The little guy even puffed out his chest as he asked us why we kept coming back. We were loyal customers for over 15 years, even placing bulk orders to feed our employees, having business meetings there, etc. We will never be back. We just wanted our frustrations heard and acknowledged and instead we were ridiculed, talked down to and...
