Tipico Helado — Restaurant in Omaha

If I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars I would. If you love horchata/horchaya ice cream come here. I may be a bit biased for that reason.

I got the La Chatitas and it made my freaking day. It was a bowl that has horchata ice cream, strawberries, granola, coconut strips and I think some nuts and some of the horchata drink. It was so delicious and after everything was eaten what was left in the bowl was a heavenly horchata soup-like drink that is worth the slurp.

There are a lot of popsicle deserves I saw and wanted to try but didn't. As well as different desserts in a bowl types and other things as well like nachos.

There is only outside seating so be prepared to eat on the go or when you get home. It was not busy at all when I went for lunch on a Friday before noon.

I will say I look Hispanic but am not but the gentleman taking our order was using a bit of basic Spanish to verify what I wanted, like "dos mas" for "Two more." So just be aware if you have no Spanish in your vocabulary it's really easy to learn using Google translator nowadays. I only know a bit from taking Spanish in high school for 2 years.

I am ashamed I don't get out more as I lived in Bellevue for 11 years and for the past couple years I didn't know this place existed! I just went here after visitng omaha on a work trip as I live in a different state now. But this place deserves at least one try from everyone.

If I move back here I will take the family here every weekend...

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Tipico Helado at many events, and while we haven’t always had the chance to get to know them personally, they’ve always been fantastic. At this past event (Justin & Genesis wedding), it was especially great working with them—they were incredibly collaborative, especially when guests naturally got up to grab ice cream and we had to put a brief pause on things. They were so helpful and easy to work with throughout.

Of course, the ice cream itself was amazing! We even got the chance to grab a couple ourselves, and it did not disappoint. Their presentation is beautiful, their product is top-notch, and they’re a joy to work with. We highly recommend Tipico Helado for your next party or event—it was an absolute pleasure...

I tried the fruit sorbets when I was there. It's great on hot day because it's a bit weaker in flavor so I felt you could eat more of it easier. Like having a bit of a watered down drink.

I loved the fact that there were so many flavor options and many that were a bit more exotic (at least to me). I ended up with pitaya and cucumber. The flavors I tried I give 4 stars. I liked the flavor but it was the texture that I wasn't as much a fan of. However, I gave them an overall 5 star because, despite a bit of a language barrier, they were the most welcoming people who worked there.

It's also an exceptionally clean store from what I could see at the time.
