If you like spice this is the place for you. I'm very picky and selective when it comes to Mexican restaurants. This one in my estimation is average. On the plus side, wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The menu was somewhat limited compared to many places I've been. One turn off, is that they nickel and dime you to death by charging extra for things that most places include for free, or just roll into their pricing structure, like sour cream, shredded cheese, onions, tomatoes, pico etc... It's just a bad look to me, and seemed chintzy. I had the (3) Tamales off the Ala Carte part of the menu. They were very good, but filling, and I took (1) home. I also got refried beans off the Ala Carte menu which was a generous portion for a reasonable price. My wife had some type of shrimp dish that was poorly described on the menu, and looked nothing like the picture on the menu she ordered from. Her portion of shrimp was generous, but was basically swimming in a very spicy large tomato juice cocktail that was not what she envisioned when she ordered it. The waiter gave us another lime to squeeze over the shrimp to try and tone the level of spice down some. The lime that came with the meal was so hard, you couldn't squeeze it, which he did apologize for. It was not a place I would go out of my way...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was alright (nothing special) but the service was TERRIBLE. After getting the attention of the host who was sitting at booth playing on his phone. He took us to our seats and put the menus down and walked away without saying a word. When the food came out a member of my party asked for a different plate cause the one he had was dirty and wet and the waiter argued with him about how it was really dirty and I step in to relay that he didnt want a wet plate. We had to get his attention two more times to ask for more water then the bill at the end of the meal because once we got our food he did not come back to our table unless asked because he was too busy playing on his phone. I wish I could single out this particular host/waiter because I don't know if everyone gets treated this way but he never said his name or ask any of the common questions when going to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't tell if I just tasted laziness, cheapness or disdain. I had the chicken fajita burrito figuring on a basic spicy combo of peppers onions garlic and meat with enough left over to eat tomorrow. That's what I am used to from numerous restaurants around the country. Everything was wet. There were no grill marks on anything. The tortilla was so soggy that I tossed it aside immediately to see what was inside. Overloaded and underspiced chicken and onions.I am thinking they simmer everything in a bland liquid. Very generous with the rice and shredded iceburg lettuce. The guacamole is so processed and salty I would not have guessed there was any avocado if I were blindfolded. The best part of the meal is, except for the rice and lettuce, there really wasn't much to throw away. Yes I was hungry...I am glad I dont live with such...
