Judi's Place — Restaurant in Oostburg

This is a cute diner and the staff is nice, but if you are a woman and you come here for lunch on a weekday by yourself, do not be surprised if both the staff and the locals look at you like you have three heads when you walk in and tell them it's just you coming in to eat. My server Andrea was very professional, but I found that my cordon Bleu pita sandwich was just ham and a flattened chicken breast slapped onto a pita, not stuffed into it or anything, and the whole thing was impossible to eat without having to chop it up first. While the fries were properly cooked they were not seasoned at all, and by the time they turned cold I found them to be inedible even with ketchup. My husband and daughter stopped here on our way back to Michigan. We were starving after striking out with all our food choices our entire vacation. Judi’s was the final stop, and it was a solid win for us. I got the German potato pancakes, my husband got the country fried steak, and our daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes. We are now driving home with stuffed bellies and big smiles. Everyone inside the restaurant was so friendly, and it was such a comfortable atmosphere. We had the friday night perch dinner and my wife and I agreed that it had to be the WORST fish plate we had ever had, and we are typically not complainers. The fish was soggy and tastless along with the breading, I had one fillet of 4 that I could not eat because it was rubbery. The bread, coleslaw and broasted potatoes were fine, but as I said the fish was horrible. If it was not for the great breakfasts that we have there I would have rated the supper experience as a 1 star.
