UPDATE:
I stopped in today and the woman behind the shield was not very pleasant with anyone. Then I went to pay with AMEX and they don’t take it. Probably not coming back after this newest experience.
A few weeks ago I was craving bbq on my trip in to Opa Locka. I googled restaurants and found this one and not far from the airport. When I got there the customers who leaving were smiling and very friendly.
I went inside and immediately became excited by the wonderful aroma of grilled and smoked foods. I walked to the counter and met with the two ladies at the front. They were kind and funny. They took my order and were professional.
As I waited for my food I spoke with several friendly customers waiting for their orders. I also confirmed they served oxtail, which is another food I love. One of the customers and the two ladies suggested the strawberry banana pudding for dessert. I ordered the ribs, string beans and Mac and cheese.
I got back to where I was staying and it was difficult (I’ll admit) not to eat the ribs on the way home. Once I got home it was the golden moment. As I opened the box, I felt I was staring at perfection. I was in awe at the food. It was a very generous portion of everything I ordered.
When I tasted the food I was transcended. It was tender, deliciously seasoned, and absolutely enjoyable to eat. I was so full after dinner I almost didn’t have room for dessert. I placed it in the fridge and a few hours later I took it out. To say the fantastic food and wonderful dessert made me wanna slap my gramma (so to speak) was an understatement.
I’ll be back very soon and hoping for the same quality. I hope the oxtail is being served as well the friendly...
Read moreCustomer service here is always TRASH, but today it was absolutely horrendous! They had horrible communication with the customers on top of a very rude cashier. 4th of July, there was a very long line around the building, no problem I get it it's 4th of July. Then the rude cashier comes outside to let us all know (we had all been there for at least 30 to 45 minutes in line already)that if we were waiting to order ribs, that the wait would be 45minutes. Again, I get it, it's 4th of July. About 10 minutes later she comes back outside with the same announcement, no problem. About 10 minutes after, with the nastiest attitude, she comes to tell the line that if we are ordering ribs that we wil not be able to place our orders until 45 minutes to 1 hour due to them being backed up. What do you mean you're not taking orders for the folks whom have just stood in line for nearly an hour? Then as another lady went to ask her a question about another menu item she literally walks off and let's the door shut in the customer's face. This review is to let Rib Shack know you all are dead wrong! As a Black Business, to treat your BLACK consumers in a way as if we are not the ones keeping you in business. Black businesses in general in Miami need to do better. I'm so sick of the lack of customer service and professionalism that our own brothers and sisters display on a daily basis! Let this be clear it wasn't the wait time that got you this review, it was the pi$$ poor customer service, professionalism, and communication that your consumers should be...
Read moreWe have to be more careful about the places we decide to eat at especially if the establishment itself is run down, ragged, and torn up from the floor up literally! This place makes too much money to continue to keep the establishment looking the way it does. This is a disgrace that needs to be addressed. I would travel very far for years to come to get food but, I have had it! my last visit in September 2024 will be my last ever! The rudeness of the servers and the demolished area where people stand to wait for their orders is filthy! The fridge where drinks are stored has been torn up for years, the floors are disgusting, and where the food is housed is a disgrace.Behind the counter is despicable. There are so many rib shacks to eat from, cutting this one out will not be a bad choice if we're talking about health department standards. They would be shut down if they had a walk through and that's no joking matter. The orange sauce on the ribs is called Carolina gold! You can purchase any size bottle from Walmart or target! Or any other retailer that always has them in stock. They are over charging people for miniature samples of it and it's absolutely disgusting what they are doing. Let's do better as a community and spend our money elsewhere, where people respect us and our dollar means something in the atmosphere we stand to...
