Mama's Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Opelousas

We have been going to Mama's for years and always loved it, but our experience 3 days ago was insanely unprofessional & gross. We went through the drive thru and placed our order. After getting our food, we parked to check everything. One of the items we ordered was the large shrimp basket, but they had given us the small. My husband got down to bring it back in and had to wait at the door because they locked the doors an hour before closing. Someone came to the door, took the food, and said they'd bring out the right order. After waiting another 20 minutes, someone brings out the order and walks back in. We open the bag to find pork chops instead of the large shrimp order. This time, I get out of the vehicle & go wait by the door for someone to come out. At the same time, another vehicle was waiting by the door, opening all their bags of food, sticking their hands in the bags, and realizing they were missing food. The employee came out and I told her they gave us pork chops instead of shrimp. The lady in the vehicle told them she's missing pork chops. The employee asks the lady in the vehicle "please tell me you have the shrimp basket" and the lady goes through all her bags again already knowing she was given the shrimp but trying to find the right bag. She hands it to the employee, and the employee asked "Do you want me to put it in a new bag? " ...... how in the world were you going to give me food that was in another vehicle, another persons hands all over it inside the bag?!" That is beyond unsanitary & gross. They were just gonna swap the food into new bags and give it back to us. My husband then got out of the car and told them he was not eating something that was gone through and touched by some random person and that we wanted a refund. I have never had a restaurant try to give me food that I paid for that has been touched all over by someone else who had also gone through the drive thru. After being loyal customers for years going 2 or 3 times every month, we were highly disappointed in the lack of food safety being served...

My cousin and I visited this establishment around 8:20 PM on a Saturday, well aware that they close at 9 PM. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by unprofessional service and subpar food quality. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a string of excuses no more fries available for the night and not enough red beans to fulfill two orders. While inventory issues can happen, it was clear the staff were more concerned with closing up than serving customers. The woman working the drive-thru was particularly dismissive, repeatedly cutting off my cousin mid-sentence and showing little patience or courtesy. Her attitude gave the impression that she was more focused on clocking out than ensuring customer satisfaction.When we got home, things only worsened. The chicken was clearly not fresh it had the unmistakable texture and taste of food that had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. While I understand the challenges of working close to closing time, this experience highlighted a lack of care and professionalism. A restaurant’s standards shouldn’t drop just because the shift is ending. Unfortunately, this visit left a bad taste literally and...

We keep hearing about this place so we made a drive from BR to check it out. We went through drive thru as our toddler will not behave. First the woman taking our order was very polite and friendly. Same when we got to the window. I got a 4 piece and my wife got a tender meal. Her review was the seasoned fries were excellent. Tenders were as well, a little on the spicy side but she admits to being a wuss. My 4 piece started out concerning. The wing was very basic with little seasoning or flavor. But then I ate the drumstick and thigh which was the complete opposite. Juicy, flavorful breading, and perfect spice. Very good chicken. All I can figure about the wing is maybe they under season them so they can sauce them, or I just got a weak one. Fried Okra was crispy and delicious. Biscuits were excellent. All well...
