So... The new karaoke person does not listen to the singers and is playing on their phone and not caring about the sound of the person that is on the mic!! I have been to more places than I can count and sang in their establishment and every karaoke kj that is even half the worth will at least listen to the projection of the singers and adjust the mic or the music to fit every single song. This is not the Brick and Barley that I remember. I really hope the management take this Into account. We may not be the best singers but we take karaoke and the places that w3 get up in front of very seriously. It is a connection to the person that is running the show and the PERSON WHO IS ON THE MIC.... this is really not the place that I feel comfortable singing. Read moreWe paid $5.00 to get inside and THEN we were told the rules of what you can and can't do. (I feel it should have been done the other way around) You can get a drink, sit down oh, and no dancing is allowed. I must add a good point to this otherwise pointless stop to Brick & Barley they did have very clean bathrooms. If you are looking to sit and do nothing over a drink I am sure this is a great place to chill but if you are looking to go out, dance, and let loose I wouldn't pick this bar. Maybe it's a lot more fun with happier staff when Covid isn't in full swing....
Read moreThis is a nicer bar located in a budget motel (which is kind of weird) with live music on certain days. There are food options as well as specialty drinks. Their liquor selection is fairly good and their signature drinks are spot on. However, something as simple as a dirty martini can be a hit or a miss depending on the bartender on duty. Be warned that this bar allows smoking and gets very thick with smoke inside. While there is an covered outdoor area with TV's, don't forget that you will be subject to Texas temperatures...
