Odabro African Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Orange

This is the worse Nigerian restaurant I have ever visited. I should have stepped back out when I didn’t see anyone inside despite the blasting music. I ordered bitter leave stew and was told that apart from the goat meat there are fish and chicken already in the stew. I said ok. He said it will take about fifteen minutes. The food came, paid and walked out. To my surprise when I got home and opened the food the bitter leave stew was rock solid. Frozen prepackaged food!!! This isn’t Shoprite frozen food section, an Africa restaurant for crying out loud. The dry meat that was nothing close to goat meat was freshly cut and dump on the frozen bitterleave stew. They also have the audacity to pack a small cup of uncooked freshly cut hot pepper inside the package. Oh my world what a lousy, lazy and uncultured way of selling and serving African food. I should have read the reviews before dashing to the disappointing food Mkt called restaurant. If you cannot prepare fresh food with the right ingredients you have no business calling yourself African restaurant. Last night was my worst experience regarding Customer service since I came to America 20 plus years ago. I am a Regular at Odabro, in the sense that I drop by every weekend to buy African food for my kids who have an American mother. I have never spent any less than $80 reach time I come.

I had called Odabro three times to order 3 plates of Goat head. Each time I called I was told its not ready. I finally made it by 12:00am.

The guy rudely told me that he won't accept my Debit card, only cash. I said to him, he ought to have told me all these time I was calling. I asked if there was a Mac machine I could use. He ignored me.

I begged him, he callously told me, that there is no more Goat head. As I was standing there, a man walked in, and he served the guy. I came to Odabro with Uber Car service from Montclair. It was raining.

I had to walk 5 blocks in the rain looking for an ATM machine. And later came to buy it. I want to say without equivocation. I Hate the man I met serving food in Odabro on September 27, 2020 with passion. He is an uneducated, and Rude Buffoon.

Delicious food for decent price. Nice wide screens TVs and awesome customer service the first time I went. However the story changed the 2nd time around. I Stopped by this past weekend and it seemed they were having an event Inside as they had balloons and decorations. I was directed to the kitchen to place my order which was isiewu. I got there and this man tells me I have to wait 2.5 hrs. Mind you, I drove about 30mins and I have my toddler who is getting impatient. I just left after fuming for a few minutes.
