Java House — Restaurant in Oregon City

I saw this cute little shop while I was waiting for the bus, so I walked accross the street to try it. my first impression was so good. It looks great, cozy little living room vibe... I ordered my food and my tea was out quickly. But then I waited a good half hour for my food, and the server behind the counter had totally "forgotten" my order. I patiently waited and chilled out doing a puzzle that was on one seating area. I had to ask if they made my food, and when it was finally made, she gave it to me in a to go box. With out utensils. No napkins. While I sat and finished my food, j watched her politely make and serve food promptly and on regular dishes to several other people. She never asked me if it was for here or to go... not sure why she chose to treat me differently than all the other customers. I found this rude, and I wish I could take...

I had been trying to get to this new coffee shop in Oregon City for a while, and finally wandered in today as they were about to close. It is adorable, bright and cheery, and even featured original artwork for sale by Tammy Milsey at affordable prices! The lavender iced latte that I got was delicious and refreshing! I can’t wait to go back and try out their food as well – especially because I saw that they were using farm fresh eggs to make a sandwich with. Yum! You can tell that the owner has put a lot of thought and care into designing the place and plans to add an outdoor seating patio and additional parking soon! If she ever decides to step away and hire a manager, I would definitely apply for the job! I doubt she will though because it’s so welcoming and comfortable and peaceful, why would she!? My husband and I were staying in a nearby AirB&B, so we decided to take the 1/2 mile walk with our pup to check it out. Unfortunately, when we got there, we discovered a sign on the front porch saying "No pets on the patio." My husband checked inside, and sure enough, we were not welcome with our dog.

Since it was quite warm out, we both were looking forward to a cold drink and a little break with our dog before walking back....but we did not purchase anything and left extremely disappointed. They are making a big mistake these days to not allow well-behaved dogs on their patio. We will...
