Big Creek Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Oregon

This is seriously the best coffee stop between Astoria and Rainier on Hwy 30! Nestled behind the Chevron station in Knappa, this surprisingly large coffee house offers a nice, homely and cozy atmosphere for dining in. Offering a selection of baked treats, Tillamook Ice Cream, and sandwiches made to order. The coffee itself is excellent and of good quality. I prefer just straight lattes, so there's never any syrup to mask the taste of bad beans. Big Creek passes with flying colors, as I've had dozens of cups over the last few years, and have never been disappointed. The staff is always cheery and welcoming, and nice to interact with.

If you're on Hwy 30 between Astoria and Clatskanie, and need a caffeine fix, make the stop. Even if there's already cars lined up into the road, do it....

Traveling from Astoria to Portland we seen this spot on the map so we held out on coffee to patron this spot off the highway. We walked in and received no greeting. The staff ignored us until I asked about food options. Even there after they didn't seem interested in engaging with us despite telling them we sought them out to support their business. The latte was overwhelming in milk and had no balance with the espresso shots. Disappointing. The sandwich was good though. Excellent drinks, delicious food, friendly service. If you like your drinks on the strong side be sure to ask for a few extra shots of espresso.
