I RARELY give a one star review but this place seriously dropped ball today. My wife and I recently moved into the area and were recommended this place by the clerks at the general store in Charleston. After hearing about the "to die for" green chili and amazing prime rib we were excited to go check it out after a day at the botanical gardens. BIG mistake! The green chili smothered pork burrito had LITERALLY just a few tables spoons of green chili and the pork was a breaded tenderloin that was dry and withered. I suspect the piece used for my burrito was a leftover tenderloin that had been originally destined for the pork tenderloin sandwich that they have on the menu. They used VERY little cheese to help smother the burrito and served it with lettuce, tomato, and diced onions. No rice and beans, no guacamole, and a salsa that tasted old and refrigerated. Certainly NOT worth $13.95. The prime rib that we paid 20 bucks for was even worse! I'm not sure WHERE they learned to cook prime rib but it was disgustingly over seasoned. My wife offered me a bite of her prime rib and I instantly knew that she was not enjoying her meal either. It tasted like it was soaked in oregano and Italian spices and then overcooked. When the staff came and asked if we wanted boxes I told her "No, I really didnt like it at all" and after she looked at my burrito with two bites taken from it she offered my wife a box and brought the check. $40.00 wasted and I left hungrier then I had arrived. I'd say that they dont care if you enjoy your meal or not and the only thing that you will get from the servers is complacency.... Dont waste your time or money here folks!! You'll get better food at a better price at the local Dairy...
Read moreWe love the food at Miller’s and have returned over and over for their soups and halibut tacos. HOWEVER, we have stopped going to Miller’s because the service has been frustratingly lousy. We walked out of the restaurant the last 3 times we went in. Each time, we were ignored at the door despite being REPEATEDLY looked at by the waiter again and again for more than 10 minutes. Was there a packed house? No. Empty tables ready? Yes. More than one person waiting tables/bussing? Yes.Was our presence acknowledged in any sort of normal customer-service way? (Eg “be right with you” or some other standard acknowledgement.) No. The last time we were in, after waiting for 15 minutes at the door (and been looked at many times by staff), we seated ourselves at an open and clean table. Then again, after 20 minutes passing and being looked at directly by the waiter, and having no one come to our table, we got up and left. Honestly, no matter how good the food, there is zero excuse for this kind of service. We are local to the area, and we provide a lot of referrals to restaurants as well as bringing our own repeat business. Sadly, we will no longer refer anyone to Miller’s or visit their establishment ourselves. We also know and acknowledge that this is not the level of service we have seen when the owners...
Read moreI am begging to love this place as there are limited options at the coast. Although I will keep coming back. My warning. The Seafood isn't special. Which doesnt make sense in a coastal town. Have the pork tenderloin sandwich or bar menu type items instead. You will be much more satisfied. The chowder is enjoyable. One of my favorite items while fine dining or enjoying seafood is calamari. This was weak, bland, flavorless. Sauce was weak pink mayo. Only redeeming factor , it was tender. These flavorless bits were not worth 16$. Breading needs seasoning, sauce needs heat, product might be convenient. Other strange observations. The halibut pieces on the tacos were so small and overcooked , they became extracrispy , overcrunchy , hard , nearly inedible. The crunch literally distracted you from the halibut , to where it could have been deepfried anything. Not enjoyable. It didn't compliment the expensive halibut, it ruined it. And almost nothing on the taco besides fried bits of ruined halibut , rough chopped cabbage and a little Sauce. Once again no flavor. No delicious tender chunks of halibut. A little pico , Cilantro, or onion would be nice to finish the taco. Del taco rocks compared to this. I enjoyed the taco on my previous visit so maybe we were all...
