The vodka sauce and limone sauce are both incredible, but unfortunately they don't give you any sauce! I ordered Chicken Limone, and was served a small portion of noodles, with two very small tiny chicken breast slices, and couldn't even taste the limone. It just tasted like two small pieces of chicken, on a bed of spaghetti. I wasn't impressed. I had eaten here 4 or 5 times before, and I thought it was decent (when we had catering done last Christmas), but during the past three visits, I was extremely disappointed. It seems the food portions have gotten so incredibly small, and they are so "cheap" with their sauce, and bread. We got one small slice of bread (I was expecting a half-loaf, and we ordered two orders, so I was expecting a full loaf of bread, one full stick, and a side of Limone sauce, that we asked for and ordered). We got nothing! Two small tiny breasts placed on a bed of spaghetti, with no limone sauce! Just two lemon slices, and it wasn't worth the $45+ that we paid. I would go elsewhere, but I have tried this place several times (hoping that it will improve) but it seems to disappoint every single time. The vodka sauce is decent (if they even give you any), and the minestrone soup is delicious. Very flavorful. I wish that they would "adjust" their food portions, and actually serve you "Chicken Limone" (with LIMONE sauce) and not just two small tiny piece of chicken on a bed or spaghetti (angel hair pasta), that is worth about 20 cents of pasta, and 50 cents worth of chicken. Less than a dollar's worth of food, for a $20 price tag. It's just not worth it! Prices are WAY too high, food portions are too small, and the without the Limone sauce, it's just NOT chicken limone without the limone sauce! I would give it "1-star" if it wasn't for the minestrone soup, and the bread was fairly decent (although they don't give you much of it), maybe one small tiny slice of bread (enough to earn 1-star). Ordering to go or takeout is never a good idea here, because the last 3 times we ordered, we always got screwed on our food portions and sauce, and never received any bread. Spending $45+ on a meal (to go or delivery), and getting such tiny food portions, and no limone sauce (on two Chicken Limone orders) was just a bad deal, and this is definitely NOT a place that I would recommend. If you want good Italian, and good food (and large food portions) then try La Dolce Vita of Lemont. Much better food, much larger food portions, they give you as much Limone sauce as you could ever want or ask for. It's a much better restaurant, and MUCH MUCH MUCH better food at La Dolce Vita of Lemont. Even though Rocco Vino's is nearby, it wasn't worth the 5 to 6 minute drive to Orland Park for this one for such small food portions, and so very little Limone sauce. La Dolce Vita of Lemont is a much better alternative, and MUCH better food, and much larger food portions, and they are not scared to actually give you some LIMONE sauce with your Chicken Limone. I can walk out with a container of Limone sauce, and ENJOY my Chicken Limone at La Dolce Vita of Lemont. This is not something you can do it Rocco Vino's. The prices are too high, and the food portions are too small. Bread and sauce are cheap, but I was extremely disappointed in how stingy the chefs are at this place, and I would not even call it "italian" food. It's a real shame, and such a big disappointment. I tried them five separate times (two times we ordered chicken with Vodka sauce, and three times we ordered Chicken Limone). All three times with Chicken Limone were a big "fail" and a big miss. Just terrible that they serve you nothing but a bed of angel hair pasta (spaghetti) and two tiny pieces of chicken, with no Limone sauce. Can't even taste it, it's like eating plain pasta without any sauce. Completely terrible. I won't be going back to this place again. It looks nice, but they just can't seem to make Chicken Limone to save their life... I'm sure it could be good if they would actually give you a large portion of Limone sauce, not just a...
Read moreMy wife and I have had several terrific experiences at RoccoVinos in Orland Park over the past few years. The food is great and the service has always been very good. However, this past Tuesday, NYE we had a less than wonderful experience. We had called for a reservation around 2p and were told that they were out of reservations. We sadly, decided to go somewhere else but on the way there we passed by RV, so we decided to stop in and see if we could still get a table for two, even if we had to wait a bit. We went in and asked for a table. We were asked by the hostess if we had a reservation and we said no. She then said well we are full with reservations. We were a bit surprised because it was 4:45p and the restaurant on both sides was about 10% full if that. She did say that we could sit at a high boy in the other room, which would have worked, if the table was not right next to the door. (there was only one high boy) So we left and went to another Italian restaurant. Here is the thing, the entire restaurant bar a couple of tables was EMPTY. Yes they had reservations but it is doubtful that they were all coming at 5p on a really BIG bus. There were two of us so we would have been out in say 45 mins to an hour at worst and we would have probably spent around 60-70 dollars. I am not saying I would not go back there, however, this has left a bad taste in our mouths. Reservations policies are flexible and in our opinion, this was a situation where they could have sat us and had us out of there well before the reservation rush would have arrived. (BTW some people don't keep reservations) RoccoVinos is a fine restaurant, no knock there, but on this occasion in our eyes they fell short of what a restaurant with good customer service should be. The two stars are reflective of this...
Read moreSo I don’t usually write nasty reviews, but I wanted to leave my opinion with an experience that me and my wife had yesterday. Me and my wife came in around 9:30 PM and the restaurant was completely dead not a person inside…the guy who I presumed to be the owner comes up to us greets us and says you know our kitchen closes at 10 PM. I presume to let him know that I’m sorry I thought you guys closed at 10:30pm His remark was yeah but our kitchen closes at 10pm. His tone was very short and snappy…me and my wife were taken back. It seemed that Maybe you should’ve stated that on your website we live in the area and we like the food here so we figured we come in for a late night dinner. We proceed to sit down and order our food our waiter she was so amazing. I feel as though she might’ve overheard the conversation that he had with us because she told us not to rush and to just overall take our time with our meals.. if I could give her a 10 out of 10 for customer service, I would she was so tentative to us checking in with us every 10 minutes just to make sure we had everything we needed. We made sure to tip her well. But as we were leaving, the owner was sitting at the exit of the restaurant. He looked at us, looked down at his watch and made a snarky remark stating wow leaving so soon. We didn’t like the comment at all. We just laughed it off as we walked out of the door, but unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll ever come back to this restaurant again Just because I don’t like the way he talk to us nor did I like the way he treated us. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe he just didn’t know that that’s not how you should talk to paying customers. I didn’t want to take it as racism so I’m not gonna call it that but that’s definitely how it made me and...
