I am tired of restaurants passing their business expenses to the customer. There are restaurants that only accept cash but the do well because their prices are low and food is good. Accepting credit cards is a benefit given to the customer an brings in customers by making it easy to pay. This restaurants prices are marked up to sufficiently cover their business expenses. Credit cards benefit the business and the customer, the fee that is incurred as a result of accepting them is a business expenses not mine. If they are going to charge a surcharge on my check there should signage making me aware so that i could decide if I will stay. Not only did I not see anything regarding this charge the server did not mention about the additional charge when he picked up the card for payment. We are already supplementing the servers pay allowing the business to pay them 50% of minimum wage. What is next a surcharge to help pay for employees workmans compensation. The prices are not cheap and I was not impressed with the food, ex. my refried beans were watery. I will not be back there are to many Mexcican restaurants that do...
Read moreI reluctantly compose this review because selfishly I do not want my favorite restaurant to be crowded. However, this business deserves to be publicly applauded. Not only is the food exceptional and above other Hispanic restaurants, but this dining environment is kept cleaner than many medical facilities. A white glove could be taken to any piece of furniture. The staff is incredibly kind and extremely accommodating. I witnessed a staff member contend with a poorly engineered frozen margarita machine completely purge itself onto to bar area and into the floor creating a giant mess, for what I understand was a reoccurring issue. The young woman did not expel a single expletive or display a frown.
Taco Tuesday provides a sufficient amount of food for a small family at the cost of $6. This includes a cup of a fantastic coleslaw that I find extremely rewarding. My friend visited from California and was in disbelief at the price, cleanliness, and service, and how spot-on the food is. This is the only restaurant I ever bother with anymore. I am so fortunate to have somewhere close-by to treat...
Read moreWe used to really love this place and would typically go there about once a week before the Covid shutdown in March. Since restaurants have opened, we have ordered 3 separate pickup orders with our most recent purchase today. First time, they messed up our order, but we chalked that up to it being a pretty busy pickup order night. Second time, our order was correct, but the flavor was meh. Decided to give it a 3rd try before writing this place off and definitely not ordering again. They charged me about $10 more for my order than it should have been. I did question the amount, but was told some odd explanation on why it had been rung up that way. I suspect that's their way of getting a tip on a pickup order- I had been planning on leaving a tip, but decided against it due to the overcharging. We get home, unpack our food, and get ready to enjoy a great meal. Unfortunately, that is not what we got. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. Strike 3 for Orwell El Torero's. Too bad, it really had been a great close place...
