If I could give this business no stars I would after what he did to an employee that has worked for him for 45, yes, 45 years, when she had a family emergency. Shame on you!! She gave you 45 years of her life and you treated her this way! You tried saying she couldn't leave because she was the only one that knew how to do wholesale orders? As the owner/boss you have no reason not to know how to do that! It's not like she always called off, as a matter of fact, that was the opposite! Didn't she come in on her day off to work for your wife because you had a Dr appointment? Why, yes she did! How about all the times she worked without a lunch break because you didn't schedule correctly? She was always so nice to everyone that came in there. Was your attitude worth all of the business you are now...

Your cashier is a real piece of work. She’s rude, she’s unprofessional and she is problematic for your business. I’ve literally never felt so unwelcome at ANY true value like I do whenever I step into Orwells. She obviously hates her job or her life and is just taking it out on everyone else. I’ll be driving to Jefferson for hardware needs since it seems to be such a burden to answer a simple question for anyone who dare steps through your door. Do y’all also get many fake bills because it seemed like she was targeting me specifically because she UV lighting my 2 5$ bills. That I got from Huntington right up the street. Lost a customer and in the future whoever asks me where the closest hardware store is I’ll be sending them...

I have stopped in for various parts needed for home repairs over the years and get my propane tank filled for my grill 1-2x each year. After hearing of this company's recent poor treatment of a long-time employee, however, I made the conscious choice to avoid spending my money here today. I will revise this review if I learn of that situation being resolved appropriately, and I avoided the 1-star review based on my history with the store. In addition, how they handle that situation will help me decide if I will spend my money here again...
