BEST MARINARA IVE EVER TASTED!
My wife and I swung by this spot on Monday, a couple hours before dinner service. When you walk in, you immediately are enveloped by the ambiance. Definitely gave me vibes from being back with my family for Sunday dinner. The smell of homemade sauces brought me back to my grandmoms house if I'm being 💯
So we ordered a few appetizers and ordered our entrées and desserts to go.
Everything came out hot and cooked to perfection. We started with mozzarella sticks, which had that crispy perfect crunch. And the mozzarella was smooth and creamy, absolutely made in house and not frozen. Paired with the most delicious, flavorful textured marinara sauce I've eaten since my grandmom passed. So good they sell it by the jar. Deff kicking myself for not grabbing a jar when I was there, but it gives us a reason to go back soon. Next we had fried calamari also paired with that awesome marinara sauce. Great flavor, not chewy, would deff eat again. Ended with last but not least while we were there, the Scungilli Insalata with Crostini. For those of you who have no idea what that is... It's tender conch seasoned with fresh garlic, olive oil, lemon and fresh herbs. YOOOOO I normally wouldn't order this myself, however my wife wanted to try it, and we were surprised with how much we liked it. I don't know who that cook/chef is, but you a real one! 💯
As far as what we took home. I ordered the chicken parm (2pc), which was very tender, no knife needed to cut these cutlets up. Their homemade tomato sauce had the absolute balance of sweet and savory that always seems out of reach. My wife ordered a sausage, green pepper and onion sandwich. She said the bread held up against the sauce, the spices in the sausage were well balanced and it all blended together beautifully.
ANNNNND Dessert!
I ordered two large cannoli, and she ordered the tiramisu. FREAKING AMAZING!!!
GO GET YOU A PLATE AND A JAR OF...

Just right off of a busy E Market Street, DiMaios Mustard Seed Cafe is a family-owned/operated business where the next generation has taken over from their father.
My partner, his aunt, our friend and I had ordered the previous evening for takeout and decided on a repeat performance the next day. Outdoor seating was available with portable heaters on those cool evenings. For some of us as first-timers to dine in on a busy Saturday night, the wait was about 25 minutes, and we got the next available table right by the kitchen, where magic happens.
We decided on the Calamari Marinara, Caesar Salad, Lasagna, Small Garden Salad, and Sunburst Salad. The food was delicious, made fresh, and cooked to perfection. Fried calamari paired with their homemade marinara sauce, which can be purchased, had great flavor and was not chewy. The portions were generous, and the price didn’t break one’s wallet. Our server, Jess, was friendly and accommodating.
I had the opportunity to speak with Jack DiMaio, sitting at the next table. Hailing from Sicily, the patriarch has brought his mother’s tried and true recipes.
As we were about to leave, the chef/one of the sons, Jack thanked us for dining. Even though it was only a couple of hours, it was time well spent, just like being in Jersey, which we...
Read moreWe ate there a couple months back for the first time and I loved there crab cakes and bruschetta. We decided to go back and try something different tonight. While waiting to be seated I noticed in their dessert case there was one piece of peanut butter pie left. When we were seated I asked the waitress if I could get the last piece. She came back and told me that it was already sold. Ok, no problem, I really shouldn't eat it anyway. She could tell I was really disappointed. She came back a little later and told me that she found another slice for us. She asked if it was for here or to go. I told her that my husband and I would share it after we finished our dinner. Well, the waitress came back again a little later to apologize but unfortunately that the piece of pie that she set aside for us was sold to someone else by her boss. I can understand that earlier the other piece was sold but when she went out of her way to see if she could find another piece for us and it was sold to someone else by her boss, you would have thought that her boss would have offered us a different dessert free of charge. The waitress was apologetic but her boss didn't even come over to apologize. I realize it was just a piece of pie but when you run a restaurant and you want to have repeat customers and those customer spread positive feedback, you do what it takes to make your customers happy. I...
