I only ate here once so I can't give as full of a review as I usually would. I tried their meatball sub. And I was a bit disappointed.
I will start with the worst part... The price. $13 for the sandwich you see in my picture. No fries either. That is way too expensive no matter what, in my opinion. Now for the sandwich itself, it was pretty good. The cheese and bun were good! I am used to a thicker and maybe crispier bread but this semi chewy bun was a good kind of different. The meatballs themselves were very bland. They were super moist and actually tasted very fresh/Homemade. But they just tasted like a bland meat mixture with no flavor or seasoning.
Even though the sandwich alone, without drink, fries or tip cost me $13 I will say that I did bring half of the food home. It was a lot.
Now as for the service I give them five stars. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and added a lot to the visit!
The Restaurant itself was very clean and comfortable! It was a great balance of comfort and casual. And even during lunch hours it wasn't too loud in there. The lighting is good.
I still want to give their pizza a try but I was very turned off by the price. $3 for a slice of cheese. This added to my all around annoyance at the prices here.
I would go here again if a friend really wanted to but not again by my own choice. It's just too expensive, especially for food that made very little impression on me. It wasn't bad, please don't think it's bad food. But was about as good as other decent restaurants...
Read moreI've become something of a regular at Valenti's over the past year-and-a-few-months that I've been living in Orwigsburg. Would get a big order around once every other week and hang onto it to have the leftovers for lunches and dinners for a few days after. Great food that hits the spot, assuming you're craving something that's on the menu. Absolutely delicious food that had been pretty affordable too.
...emphasis on "had been."
Over the course of the past year-and-a-few-months that I've been going to Valenti's, the prices have been steadily creeping upward. One of my favorite items, a medium Chicken Tuscany pie, has spiked from $17.50 to $23 in this time. Getting that, plus a side of tiramisu, had once been an easy ~$20 order, but it's now a $30 order instead. Again: This is for a medium pie and a dessert.
A few other examples, as I compare the current menu with one I stashed away for reference a while ago... Small serving of pasta with tomato sauce: $10 $14 Seafood Salad: $13 $18 Soda: $3 $4 French fries: $5 $7 BBQ Spare Ribs: $20 $28 Large Plain Sicilian Pizza: $16.50 $23 Shrimp and Chicken in Vodka Sauce: $25 $33 Crab Cakes over spaghetti/fries: $20 $30
I'm not mad, just disappointed. I've grown to love this place, and I love the food. I like Valenti's a lot, and I want them to do well -- but not like this. I'd much rather spend $20-25 twice a month than $30-35 once a...
Read moreI ordered from the counter. I got a slice of Specialty Pizza and a drink to eat in. The pizza was pre made and sitting under a light. I went to pay and then I realize that they had a 3.95 percentage increase in your bill if use a debit or credit card. An up-charge passed on to the customer. They warmed up the pizza and I walked back to my chair and I realized I wanted something, I asked the waitress and she said I will take get it for you. She did. That was the last She spoke with me. The pizza was lukewarm, I ate half of it and realized that I really didn’t wanna eat it so at this point cool after about five minutes the cheese was hard on top the pizza was super mushy. She walked by me at least eight times never looked up at me yet I was the only one in the dining room. She appeared to be cleaning tables which was a good thing because the restaurant was clean. However I got tired of waiting for her to pay attention to me, ate the cold pizza cleaned up my own dishes and left. Not a great experience. I’m wondering if the waitress didn’t want to help me because she thought she wasn’t going to get a tip. Disappointed in...
