I had a very strange experience in this restaurant.I asked to see the menu and the guy gave it to me and then showed me to a corner without any place to sit on and told me to wait. The whole restaurant was empty for the exception of one table. I was surprised, but at the same time very tired and hungry, so didn't think much of it. I just asked if I can sit on the chair. I also tried to communicate the little changes to my order, but he seemed to be very busy talking to people about personal stuff to the people having dinner. After a while I asked it I could sit at the table. He looked at me hesitation and after a pause said "Ok, sit at the table". Meanwhile a nice girl brought me my dinner in to go bag. I thought " Oh, that's why he treats me like that!" and said that want to eat here, and never indicated that I want "to go" order. The guy re-appeared and asked me with disdain "Do you really need a plate?" I was taken aback and said I can eat from the container. Of course, I can eat in my car having a container on my lap. But I hoped to have a meal FROM THE ACTUAL PLATE while SITTING AT THE TABLE!!! I noticed that othe people came in and nobody asked them if they want to sit at the table and if they want to eat from the plate. Obviously, I would never go there again. If you are a single white female - I don't advise you to go there either! It was very unpleasant experience to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I drove by Tres Amigos a few weeks ago and decided to stay for dinner. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived and given our menus. Some chips and salsa were brought to our table while we tried to decide what we wanted, and those were addicting, especially with the spicy salsa. For drinks, we had the Pina Colada, which came in a BIG glass. It was very tasty and refreshing, although a bit more rum would have been good. My husband decided to have the Burritos Tres Amigos and I chose the Pollo Chipotle, and I don't think we said more than three words after we started eating. My chicken was so tender and delicious, with just the perfect amount of spiciness. I would definitely eat it again. The burrito was very good as well and the price was right. I am looking forward to trying something else on the menu, although thinking of that chicken makes me want to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis last Wednesday, Feb. 24th, 2021 around 11:30 am, I went to Tres Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Charles City. First, the chips are perfect; they are warm, not too salty, and crispy. I liked their salsa as it was chunky and had the perfect amount of spicy.
I ordered the Chimichanga with Chile Relleno. My meal came with rice and refried beans. It was delicious! One thing that I am never a fan of is fountain soda and Tres Amigos serves their sodas in 20 ounce bottles. That was perfect for me!
The grounds were well kept and the tables were very nice. The food was quick, hot, and cheap. Hereās my scoring: Food taste-10/10 Cleanliness-10/10 Amount of food vs cost-10/10 Therefore, they scored a 30/30=100%= A+
With this score and the fact that the staff were very friendly and thorough in asking how our food was (not once but twice), I would most...
