A J's Restaurant — Restaurant in Osakis

Just a great small town Minnesota diner. Like many similar restaurants the hours are 6 am to 2 pm, obviously catering to breakfast, brunch and lunch. A sign in the window says “Hiring cooks , servers and dishwashers.” There appeared to be one server, one cook and one busser working today, they were all busy but got things done efficiently and the food quality was very good. Bacon cheeseburger and California burger exceeded our expectations. Quality beef prepared perfectly, fresh veggies, and buns were seared on the grill. There were a mix of tourists, senior citizens couples, such as ourselves and local workers who stopped in for lunch. We always pick a booth to sit in, but there were also small tables that could be pushed together to easily accommodate a larger group. I wish I had taken a picture. I always think of it too late. I had a delivery about 6 miles further into town. I saw AJ:s on my way through and made a point to remember. The parking area was packed and told me it was a local hot spot to eat. Boy was thought correct. I got the Denver omelet. My favorite breakfast selection. It's was not only the most beautiful omelette ever. It was the most flavorful. I could taste every ingredient individually. If I am ever in the area again. You can bet I'll be stopping in. If I can get a parking space. By the way, my daughter loves the earrings. I am so glad your restaurant survived COVID. It's a very warm, inviting, home town...

Sat at a large table and the owner asked if we had more people joining us. We said no why is the herd coming as a joke and we could move. She took it very serious. Asked what we wanted to start with for drinks and never asked if we wanted something else with our meal. She came to the table and just stood there. Never asked if we were ready to order. Just stood there until I ordered. Never asked 1 time how our food was. Never said thank you for stopping. Nothing. She said maybe 7 words the entire time we were in there. That is absolutely unacceptable, especially being the owner. I'll never be back. I've never experienced...
