I'll start by saying I like to give honest and positive reviews. However, my experience here wasn't the best.
We arrived and were seated right away... we then decided we wanted to sit out on the patio as it has a really cool vibe. We found a table to sit at, someone came over 10min after we sat down. We asked for a menu, but no one returned. After about 20min, We decided to sit where it looked like more people eating and being served. Sat there for another 7 min before we were able to flag someone down for menus. The server told us they were closing in 30min and made it seem like we shouldn't be ordering. What restaurant/bar closes at 9 on a Friday, Let alone tell guests that you're closing in 30min. It's not like we walked in 10min before close.
The rain came very quickly, so we helped put down some umbrellas and ran inside before the rain fully hit. We went back to sitting inside. It's now about 45 minutes of being there and no real service. We do get a server inside (Olivia). She was great. Had great customer service and helped us with dinner and drinks. We ordered food and drinks right away, being we didn't want to keep people there longer than close.
When the food arrived, it was cold cold as if it was sitting out all day. It's so weird. It didn't take that long for it to come. It's probably a normal amount of time for being busy. Also, many other tables were filled. I'm not sure how it could be so cold so fast. Everyone's food at our table was cold cold. They could have thrown it in the oven or microwave for a couple min and it would have been better.
Olivia never made us feel unwanted for sitting late. Our bad experience was not a reflection of her. She actually saved our night/experience.
I guess for recommending this place, I would say make sure you go early and try to flag down a server if you sit outside. The patio is pretty amazing. The food was good, but would be better...
Read moreAvoid the Wagner brat burger at all costs. The brat patty was dry and bland, the pretzel bun was stale and hard, and it was doused in Heinz mustard. Literally more mustard was on the burger than meat by volume. I had to take my knife and scrap off all the mustard just so I could taste anything else. And worst of all, they use the worst and cheapest mustard of all time, Heinz. Out of all the mustard choices out there their chef picked Heniz? Yikes! That says a lot about them and how little they care about their food. Also didn't come with kraut even though their menu says it comes with it. The side order of coleslaw was more liquid dressing than anything else, felt like I was eating a soap than coleslaw. Even my own server was making fun of it saying it's the worst coleslaw she's ever seen anywhere. Says a lot when their own employees make fun of their own food. Charging 17 bucks for something I can make better on my own is a rip off, and I'm really that as someone whose really bad at cooking, but I know I can do better. Honestly, the worst pub food I've ever had in my life, and that's saying a lot because I've easily eaten at 100+ brewpubs over the years. The food just tasted so generic, bland, and cheap.
Otherwise I tried a large flight of various beers, most were average and a couple were slightly above average but nothing really stood out as being excellent. I'd recommend the two or three that were above average but otherwise, coming from a state that has at least a couple of hundred craft breweries, this one's line up is pretty forgettable.
Honestly, if you're in the mood to try Fox River Brewing beer just go to a great restaurant and order it there. This location is just lame, and lacks character and quality. Very disappointing that I dropped 40 bucks for a single meal just for myself only to leave craving something...
Read more6pm reservations for 8 adults 2 kids we contemplated many restaurants and chose this one thinking we would get a decent meal, with good service. No. It was completely underwhelming and we won’t be back. Seated inside, in the tap room bar, not the main restaurant which was ok, however the table had a puddle on it and stuck on food. The sun was beaming in with no way to shade the windows so we asked to move. Waitstaff reseated us and said he would be back for our order. But never started with drink order. After about 5 mins we flagged him over and asked for drinks and apps. He was kind, but not attentive. he missed 1 of the three apps, which all came at different times. Everyone’s food awkwardly came out separately. The timing was off completely. We had to ask for drink refills repeatedly. The cheese curds and fried pickles were good. The brisket tacos were hard to chew, the brisket was burned and hard. The blue bobber burger was delicious and FF were great. However the beer cheese sauce (which was forgotten and we had to remind) was nasty! Watered down cheese powder. You could feel the powder on your tongue. Flaming steak was cooked to specified temp, but was cold and nothing on it was “flaming” the torched butter at the table was awkward for both the server and our friend. Chicken ceaser salad was good, but not $20 good… same with the 14” supreme pizza, it was just ok. But definitely not something to order again for $25…A $5 Little Ceasers would have been better honestly. Chicken and waffles were just ok. Nothing special they were just thrown on the plate no presentation or care on that dish. Would not order again. The roast beef hogie was huge and looked delicious. Tasted good too, no complaints with this. Needless to say this Place is off our list for decent food. No reason to return. Overall over priced and...
