Absolutely an incredible place!!! This is a Local, Family owned Mexican restaurant. This is as authentic as it gets here in Oshkosh! I lived in Miami for 18 years and basically everyones favorite food down there is hispanic cuisine. I’ve had my fair share of Mexican food through it my life, even from Mexico itself. And I could say hands down that this restaurant brings that flavor and vibe straight from their hearts. The food is incredible, the owner Alejandro a great guy always greeting you with a smile. I would love to see this restaurant completely full one day at max capacity. He has put so much work into his food, they deserve all the success that will come their way. They even have authentic Coca-Cola with cane sugar! I definitely recommend coming here if you love food like I do. The fish tacos 100% the burritos filled with meat and not just fillers like rice and beans. The homemade salsa that they have, is SO GOOD. Try the green one ! Green salsa is usually so spicy in other Mexican restaurants that you can’t really enjoy it. They make theirs edible and so flavorful! They even sell it in 8 and 16 oz cups thankfully so you can take some Togo and enjoy at home. As soon as you sit down you are greeted with their home made chips and red salsa, a perfect entrance to snack on while you check their selective menu. I’m glad I came here and hope you guys give...
Read moreI'd come into town to go to the Oshkosh public museum, and came here for a late lunch. I have to say it wasn't too impressive for the outside, but I was wowed the minute I walked in. The interior is warm and well. Spaced, and staff is extremely welcoming.
I was alone, so I sat at the bar. That day, the bar was staffed by the owner and his two sons. The family resemblance was unmistakable! I asked for help charging my phone, as it hadn't charged properly during my drive. My server, the elder son, I believe, plugged it into a wall outlet for me. Seeing that it still wasn't charging properly, he used HIS OWN PERSONAL CHARGER to connect and charge my phone.
We chatted a bit about the menu, and he recommended the shrimp tacos. I did order them, and was delighted. The shrimp was fresh and flavorful. My only problem is that I had for asked for them spicy, and received only about an ounce of hot salsa at a time, leading to an extra $3.75 charge.
Really?!?
But other than that, the service was amazing, the staff were friendly and very efficient, and the food was excellent.
I felt like a friend in the family by the time I left. I definitely...
Read moreWe had dinner here for the first time on Mar. 30, 2024 and would not recommend. No decor at all. Margaritas were ok and the Ceviche was good. Problem is that my wife ordered a quesadilla with asada and I ordered a burrito with chicken. What we received was a quesadilla with chicken and a burrito with asada! We did not realize this until we took a few bites of each, so we decided not to complain and we did not want to for them to prepare our meals again. When I received the bill, it showed the quesadilla was to be asada and the burrito chicken! Guess the cook cannot read! The asada was not tender and the burrito was rather small. The quesadilla came with the sides as the menu stated, but the burrito came with no sides. When I returned home I looked up their menu online and found, as I had thought, the burrito was to have the same sides as the quesadilla. You can get a better quesadilla and burrito, with tasty sides at all the other Mexican restaurants in Oshkosh, then at the La Baja, and have the food...
