It was New Years Day and my low fuel light came on while the wife and I were visiting some family that recently moved to Oshkosh. Pete’s was suggested and we made it there on fumes. Once inside the eclectic, but themed, decor and smell of the grill let me know we were in for a full service treatment. Menu is somewhat limited but allows you to customize your burger the way you want it and there are plenty of deep fried goodies to order as appetizers. We ordered wings, cheese curds, cauliflower bites and mozzarella sticks to start filling up then, to top us off two Gas Cap burgers, a double Gas Cap burger and a Chicken wrap. On my Gas Cap I had grilled mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese, bacon and pickles. Wow Wow Wow!!! All the food was absolutely outstanding!
It was busy AF and there were a lot of food orders but the two guys working in the pit hustled like pros and were pumping out food and drinks with lightning lap speed. You do place your orders at the bar as there is no waitstaff. Be courteous to whoever may sit at the table after you and clean up after yourself, unless you don’t have opposable thumbs...then you get a pass. Prices were very reasonable and while beer selection looked good opted to wash it all down some Point Root Beer! Yum Yum!
I look forward to coming back here and highly recommend to anyone looking for the best bar burger I’ve eaten in Northeast WI. Keep...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places in Oshkosh. I love everything about this bar. The atmosphere is great. The clientele is great. Its cozy. The food is awesome. You gotta come check it out at least once. They have lots of TVs for watching the games as well.
Food- The food is your normal burgers, fries, and fried appetizers BUT the taste is anything but "normal". The burgers are some of the best burgers I have had anywhere. They are made fresh on the flattop right in front of you. The fries are salted and cooked perfectly. Try the garlic fries because they are delicious as well. All the appetizers are cheap and you get a lot of food. Cheese curds are probably the best but the mini tacos are fantastic as well and you really get enough to make them a meal if you wanted.
Drinks- The beer is cold and cheap. They have a full bar for whatever mixed drink you could want.
Staff- The staff is wonderful. They might come off as a little rough around the edges until you warm up to them and just see thats how they are. They always make sure to check on you to make sure you are happy with the food and the drinks are filled.
I don't come here nearly enough but its hands down one of my favorite bars in...
Read moreIf I were a local, I’d be at Pete’s many times per week. The vibe is so cute - who doesn’t love a good theme - the guys behind the bar are charming and fun to chat with and the regulars make for interesting conversation. The prices are wild. 3$ double wells? Fkg 2$ beers. The amount of food you get is insane. And the food is delicious!! We got the Cajun cheese curds (there were like 1000 in a basket) and THREE FREE SAUCES because I’m a good girl and read the menu comprehensively. But why wouldn’t you - it’s unique and makes for compelling literature. We also ordered a sandwich to go - we left the decision up to chef - I couldn’t choose because everything he made looked bangin. It was a steak sandwich. I’m sure if I had eaten it immediately - or even that night - it would have been MUAH 💋- but I actually went home to my van on the side of the road and fell asleep. I ended up reheating the sandwich the next day in my ninja and I was honestly blown away at how delicious it still was. Hahaha, bravo bravo!! All dive bars should look up to you, Pete’s. ❤️🥂
