I am so incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. I worked here for seven years when it was under different ownership years ago, and multiple times since, I have come to the restaurant and the service is beyond slow, food is always forgotten or it takes forever to get wait staff to come wait on us. This summer we came a couple times and it was 40 minutes after asking a bartender multiple times to get wait staff before they came to our table and there were only two tables in the restaurant that had people sitting at them. Tonight was the last straw. I am not one to leave a post ever about anything, but this just put the icing on the cake. I hate to see a business that used to be really great slowly falling apart. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:15 there were maybe six tables total that had people sitting at them. Wait staff were just standing around behind the wait area. I ordered my food at 6:22; still not busy by 7:04pm the waitress brings my daughters chicken tenders and tells me there was a misunderstanding in the kitchen about the baked fish I ordered and that it would be 10 more minutes and they would complement me an appetizer, which I took because I have to eat by a certain time with medication . 25 minutes go by, still no fish. At this point I’ve been sitting at the restaurant for an hour and 15 minutes waiting on food (Mind you there are still plenty of open tables, no one is waiting in the hall to be seated and weight. Staff is still standing around in the waitress area) and my daughter is done eating. I ended up leaving and told them to forget it. This isn’t the first time this has happened and when I worked there if it took more than 25 minutes for us to wait on our tables and get food out especially when there’s no line out the door and empty tables we would’ve been strongly disciplined by the manager or owner, what happened tonight would’ve never happened. It would’ve been very unacceptable.. However, back when I worked on a Friday or Saturday Night the restaurant was so incredibly packed, We had a 2 to 3 hour wait every single weekend that I worked. people were lined up in the hallways waiting to eat. you could barely stand in the Restaurant and we ran our butts off we didn’t have time to chat with our coworkers and stand around. everybody helped each other out with food and drinks. I literally would work 4/5 hour shift from 4 PM until 9 PM or 10 PM and I wouldn’t even have a chance to take a breath until after 10 PM because every table in the restaurant was full. Another situation I watched tonight while I was waiting for my food forever , was our waitress was waiting on the table next to us getting a drink order, Her buzzer went off. instead of going to grab the food after she finished taking that tables order, she went to another table that had a larger party, took their Order And then she went and punched the order in the computer instead of going, and grabbing the food that she should’ve been grabbed as soon as her buzzer went off, which obviously can make the food cold. I’ve read some of the other posts and the responses of it being busy, this is not busy at all by any means and that’s why I feel feel it’s very unacceptable that this situation has happened multiple times. Don’t get me wrong, the staff was very nice And the food always taste great , but this is just unacceptable. I grew up at this restaurant years ago and it makes me sad That the atmosphere has changed And the lack of motivation in the industry. However, I have no desire to go back as I have had friends complain about the same thing. The food is good, but you’re better off doing carry out or delivery. I hate to leave such a negative post but at the same time I don’t want to see a business go under for some of the same complaints I had tonight that I’ve also seen on these posts, not to mention all the people that don’t leave reviews and they just don’t ever come back. We waited a long time to order because our server brought us our drinks one by one, since we arrived at different times, but would always dart off as soon as she set it down. Once we did order our food it took 40 minutes to get it. I couldn't see what was happening in the bar area but I believe we were the only ones in the dining room with an order in thus far. We ordered the titan burger, a pizza and two orders of wings. The wings were good. The burger had more pink than you would normally get unless you requested it that way and the fries were luke warm. The pizza was only cut once (in-half) and had paper baked into the bottom of it that could not be peeled off. Instead of waiting forever for our server to come back, my dad brought the pizza back into the kitchen himself. The server saw him go in and out of the kitchen and never asked what was wrong or checked in with us. When he went back up to the server station to tell her he didn't want a replacement pizza at all we got our only apology of the night from her and no offer to make it right or see if he wanted something else instead. She came by once to refill our drinks and said the mountain dew might be flat but we could try it. She set it down and left right away before it could be tried and came back 5 minutes later to check. She ended up walking past our table 3 to 5 times to go to other tables but didn't stop once at ours to ask about the food or see if we needed anything. It was not a busy night, she was at the server station often refilling her own drink or on her phone. She stopped by when all of our plates were empty and we asked for the check. No apologies for the pizza or anything else.
On our way out we saw that the owner was sitting in his office. My dad stopped to talk to him as he continued doing computer work without standing up or turning around to face him, at least from what I saw. When he was told about what happened during our meal he tried finding our check (not sure why that mattered anymore since it was already paid), he asked what size pizza we had gotten (as if any size pizza should only be cut in half and come with paper on the bottom) and told us that he's never heard a complaint about his staff unless it's busy (the three most recent reviews are all low and mention the wait time and staff.) The fact that he didn't even know that a patron had walked into his kitchen is perhaps a sign of the lack of attention paid to the dining room and lack of communication with his staff. Once again no offer to make it right or any real sign of remorse.
Overall really disappointed and won't be back, it is not the same as it used to be. The past few times we've been there we have had similar experiences with poor service but this was our tipping point. I understand that things can go wrong in the kitchen, but the response to the mistake is what will stick in our minds. Read moreWhat a waste of $27. I ordered carry out of a large Hawaiian pizza and an appetizer sampler. The sampler was pitiful. $8.50 for 2 mozzarella sticks, 3 1/2 breaded mushrooms, a few soggy zucchini sticks, and undercooked onion rings. I live 6 minute away and tried to eat this as soon as I got home. It was very barely even luke warm and practically cold. They obviously made this right away and it had been sitting around the kitchen getting cold. Then there is the pizza. The crust was thin and crispy and was not burnt. That is the best I can say about it. There were barely any toppings and when you pay $16.50 for a pizza with 2 toppings on it, you hope that there is at least some on every piece. But no 1/3 of the pizza was nothing but cheese. Barely any pineapple on the pieces that had pineapple on them at all. And those that did had the worst sauce that completely overpowered the pineapple so you couldn't taste it to begin with. They obviously don't care about customer retention. Seriously over priced for what you get. Had I paid $15 for the order I would have expected this quality. You certainly do not get the quality you pay for. They should just remove Hawaiian pizza from the menu altogether. And not one of the cold appetizers I tasted was all that appealing either. I wouldn't even want to try...
