My family is a regular at this restaurant and have been for many years but tonight will change that. Me, my 7 month pregnant wife and three year old son met up with some friends of which was another family with a 7 month pregnant mom of 2 little boys. It took an hour to get seated which isnt abnormal and normally acceptable but when we were sat we ordered food with meals for the children and appetizers. About 20 minutes later the crowd slowed down and new people were sat around us. As we waited with our hungry children we noticed 3 tables around us started to receive the main courses. We stopped the waitress and asked about our childrens food and our appetizers. The waitress told us the kitchen was behind. She then brought our childrens food that was cold on piping hot plates. We asked about our appetizers and she said that one of them hadn't been put in. We told them to bring what they had and we would wait for the remainder appetizer...so we waited...and waited...finally the appetizer came with dinner. It was cold on a hot plate. We eventually asked another waiter for the manager. The manager finally came but with what seemed to be an annoyed attitude. She immediately started making excuses about the kitchen being backed up...while the tables taround us received and ate their food before us. When we pointed that out she started to get what seemed like an even bigger attitude. You would think this annoyingly long story would have ended there...nope. Instead of reducing our bill, we were offered coupons...coupons...we refused the coupons. Apparently that must have meant that they should treat us worse because then 20 minutes went by we had to ask for boxes and with very little people in the restaurant we finally received our bills...which were wrong and they attempted to charge us for more than what we ordered. Some paid over just to be done with the situation. The wait staff acted like they could have cared less about giving good service and the management very much backed and enforced that. After reading other posts this seems to be the way ownership operates. It was a very...
Read moreI used to really enjoy Erbelli's, but the quality has dipped over the years, not only in the food, but also in staff competence. I don't mean to sound malicious, but I'm amazed that the last three consecutive times I ordered from this place, each order was either wrong or was missing something. Those weren't the only times, either. There have been numerous occasions where the order was messed up in some way. I get that mistakes happen sometimes, especially if they're super busy. I usually let them slide, because again, I understand not every single time will be perfect. However, I can honestly say, out of all the places I order from, Erbelli's makes errors more than any other one. It's almost tradition at this point.
The food has become disappointing. Their sub sandwiches used to be generously filled with the respective sandwich ingredients. Now I'm not even sure if there's anything to go with the huge amount of bread they give you. Their salads also used to be better. Chicken pieces were bigger and less fatty, there was more cheese, and the lettuce seemed a bit crisper. I recently ordered Chicken Alfredo, which was unfortunately clumpy and dry, not to mention a very low number of chicken pieces.
Now, Erbelli's loves to gush about their pizza. It has won several annual awards. Why? I'm not totally sure. The pizzas I had were so greasy, they were basically almost mush. It still wasn't the worst pizza I've ever had, but worth awards? Debatable.
My family tends to order from this place quite a bit. Usually I opt out, and get something else for myself. However, when I do decide I don't feel like going anywhere or making something and get something from Erbelli's, it usually becomes an experience that makes me desire more effort.
I miss the...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible customer service. I wanted to use Erbelli’s catering for my upcoming wedding. I went online to their website and reached out to the specific catering phone number. No answer. On the voicemail there was also an email to contact. So I quickly typed up an email with some questions I had for them. After a week of no response to my email I called the catering number again and left a voicemail with my contact info. After waiting another 5 days with still no response to my email or voicemail I used the contact us on the Erbelli’s website. I FINALLY received a response to that 3 days later. I exchanged a couple emails in regards to my catering request. They asked for some details about my wedding to which I replied same day. That was on 1/17. I STILL haven’t received a response to that email almost a month later. I even replied again to make sure they didn’t miss my first reply. I’ve since found another cater and I just can’t believe the experience I have had with Erbelli’s. I even went into the stadium location a couple weeks ago for lunch on a Friday. The service was terrible. They barely have any tables in the dining room, looks like they are still social distancing. It took my friend and I 20 minutes to get sat at a table. Once we were sat it took another 20 for a server to acknowledge us and take drink orders. I’m not sure what’s going on with this place because they used to be awesome.
And in response to what Erbelli’s posted, they certainly are not trying to contact me. I’ve had no missed calls from odd numbers and I’ve gotten no emails in the last few weeks. I’ve even been periodically checking my spam folder over the last month. They have both my phone number and correct...
