Haven't been here in years, so glad we made the drive from Decatur,Mi. The staff are friendly and helpful. The subs are nothing less than amazing. The sub bun was fresh and just right. The meats were high quality Sub 1-Medium -Wally's house special ( 6 meats your choice or let them surprise you) Sub 2- Medium - Turkey Club Baklava was delicious & very rich , although sticky so have some napkins available. The restaurant had lots of space so anyone can go with your team/friends after a game or large families with plenty of room for all. There were 2 seating areas. One near where you order and one down a short hallway (that's where we sat) The bathroom I will say leaves a lot to be desired . It looks as old as the building probably is. It is large however. Hubby says A Must Try Sub Shop !!

Took the gal to Wallys for the first time, and let's just say we'll be back again. The restaurant itself has an " old-school" appeal that isn't normally attractive to the modern eye. It's a comforting feel, to say the least. I ordered a Reuben and tuna salad sub! Same options as any classic sandwhich joint, yet still leaves you wanting more after each bite. I will say I ordered it warmed up with everything on it. Ingredients tasted fresh, and at under $10, it's not breaking the bank ( especially asking for extra meat). It's definitely worth trying if you're a fan! Thankful for a local shop like this.

Of all the submarine sandwiches I've eaten in my 94 years on the planet, the delicious behemoth I consumed at Wally's (first half), then at home is second ONLY to the monsters at Laspada's in Forf Lauderdale, Florida ( aka, the Bidet of the United States). However, Lauderdale's foremost nautical delights are crafted in an environment that's clean yet resembles the main dining room in a now-defunct Howard Johnson's. Yummy freaking Yunmy. I invited my best friend, Roy Gevalt to join me next Tuesday in a Kalamazoo celebra tion honoring Wally's. Be there. ALOHA.

Really good subs! Give them a try!

My wife grew up in the area and mentioned a few times that "We really need to go there someday, they have really good subs". We recently moved back to the Kalamazoo area so while in the area we decided to stop there.

Atmosphere inside: On the outside the shop looks small and if you blink you'd probably miss it driving past it. However once you step inside you can see that looks are deceiving. The main area is what you'd expect - a deli counter, a couple seats, and fireplace on the right. However if you look to your left you'll notice they have a good sized dining/seating area - enough to hold plenty of people if you wanted to eat there. There were 2 employees working when we went, and they were quick to take our order, make the subs just the way we ordered them, and offered suggestions.

Menu/Food: The menu has a wide variety of subs to pick from. I had a hard time picking what I wanted. Everything was very reasonably priced and we didn't have to break the bank eating there (which seems to be the case everywhere else lately). The corned beef, and meatball sub sounded good but I ended up with the seafood one. I always enjoyed that type of sub back in the day when Subway offered it, so thought I'd give it a try here. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted pretty darn close to the one that Subway used to have. The only difference is that it had celery in it, which still tasted great. My wife and kids really enjoyed their subs too and commented how good it was.

Final thoughts: If you're looking for a good sub, at a good price, go to Wally's Subs. I know I will the next time I'm in that area of town....

First time stopping in tonight, but it has been highly recommended so I thought Id give it a try. I love the quaint feel of it. The customer service was great. Lots of options and ways to customize and build your own sub how you like it. My son and I got the classica Italian sub, I added banana pepper and he added olives. The price was $26 for 2 9inch subs that were packed and I mean packed full of fresh ingredients (side note the pickles that came on the sub reminded me of pickles my grandma used to make, very nostalgic feeling). The bread is soft, the Italian dressing was flavorful, all the veggies were crisp and fresh and the meat was wonderful. So this is definitely going to be my go to sub shop especially since I oay the same price at the other cookie cutter sub shops around town. Not even a negative imo because I'm not a warm sub person, but they don't have a way to toast a sub but are willing to warm it up in the microwave if you want, but it was recommended when we got hone and wanted a warm sub an air fryer is the way to go. I will say if you are in a wheel chair or have some other mobility issue it may be a bit of a tight squeeze to get in however it was raining and dark so there may have been another entrance available. Highly recommend and I 100% will be back I have so many flavor...

I called to order a sub for lunch while at work. I work in a huge campus building with many different departments. I gave my order for a small sub and asked for the total. As the lady that had taken my order was checking, she held the phone away from her mouth; however, she started complaining to other people that work there when they were asking where that was going to be delivered. She said at the bank and proceeded to go on about why can't we all order together and like oh another one for that place. Basically complaining that it was a separate order. We have 2000+ employees where I work so there are going to be separate orders. There were other comments that were made as well. Totally unprofessional! We have many choices of places to eat out on this side of town and you are Lucky that employees like your food and place orders. We keep you in business. I'd make sure that if you are going to complain that people are ordering food from your place of business that pays your paycheck, you don't let them hear you complaining about it! It will be quite a while before I inconvenience you by placing an order...
