We just got home from the Cafe by County Kitchen in Ottumwa having breakfast, believe me the servers and the owner did not have masks or gloves on. The servers refilled the buffet tables without gloves or masks on. Sorry we still eat our breakfast and enjoyed every bite. If we didn’t like the idea that they were no masks or gloves we would of just left. I seen no possible reason for calling the state to screw them out of business, just don’t go there again if you don’t like the conditions. So Denise, you were completely in the wrong for turning someone into the state just because you were upset because the serves didn’t have masks on. We go to Taso 2-3 times a week. We really enjoy the servers and the owner, the food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. The city doesn’t give Taso marked parking spots for curb side pick up and I wouldn’t want the servers to take a chance on catching Covid once they leave the safe zone away from the restaurant. You could of called ahead and someone would of brought your order out the door, you could pay and leave. No reason to even go inside. If I owned Tasos I have the right to refuse service to anyone and I would blow your face up to bill board size and put it on my wall to make sure you never entered the steakhouse ever again. You just made stuff difficult for persons that enjoy that restaurant. Just keep you faults to yourself from now on and stop hurting business that are trying to survive in this terrible time. That place will always get 5 Stars from me and all my family. They all have worn masks and gloves since they opened up again...
Read moreLove Taso's! They have a large variety of food, and the majority of it is very good! The service can be a little iffy. Most employees are very friendly, but I got someone who must have been having a bad day today. My 8-year-old had a friend over and they wanted Taso's for lunch. My kids always want chicken strips from Taso's, so I couldn't remember what other items were on the kids' menu and I couldn't find the kids' menu posted online. So when I called, I asked what options they had. I repeated the options to the friend and when she said she wanted pizza, I asked her what kind she wanted. While she was telling me, "Cheese," the employee who answered the phone said, "Ma'am, I'm very busy, so can you call back when you have your order figured out?" I said, "I do have it figured out now" and she said "Hang on" and put me on hold. I was on hold with no music for so long that I thought I might have gotten disconnected. So I hung up and called back a little bit later. The same gal answered the phone, "Can I put you on hold?" I said, "Yes." I went back on hold for 8 minutes and then she hung up on me. I had my husband call in then, and they answered very politely and took his order right away. It seemed to me that she recognized my number from before and decided to get back at me. I'm still not sure what I did wrong, other than not knowing what was on the kids' menu by heart. Can't say I was very impressed. But they're good most of the time, and I will continue to go back as long as today's experience doesn't...
Read moreI’ve been to Taso’s several times and never had any major issues...until today. The food is mediocre, good in the eyes of Osky perhaps, but it’s not anything to brag about. I planned on ordering takeout today since I was in town, but arrived to the place crowded beyond 50% capacity, with ZERO social distancing being practiced, and not a single customer wearing masks (seated or waiting), including a large group congregating at the front right inside the door. 1 employee was wearing a mask behind the counter at the register, but 2 others seen there were not. While the state does not mandate masks, they do mandate a 6-foot distance and prohibit groups from congregating in areas where social distancing isn’t possible in restaurants. From my take on this, they don’t seem to take COVID-19 precautions seriously in the slightest, including state-mandated guidances related to restaurants...guidelines that can result in the restaurant being fined and/or closed by the state. After seeing the situation inside, I chose to take my business elsewhere. Taso’s: you lost my business today and forever. Your food isn’t...
