Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream - Ottumwa — Restaurant in Ottumwa

Ordered two salads this evening by phone, when we tried to add ranch cups onto our order the female employee states "ranch is included with the salads". Salads get picked up, no ranch included. Ok, no biggie, we call, same female employee answers situation is explained and asked if we can come through and grab the ranch "oh yea, come on through" We arrive to grab the ranch and the male manager on duty draws out the whole interaction. He hides around the corner and basically plays a game of telephone with some poor teenager stuck in the middle "we can't give you any ranch, you didn't order it with your salads" technically actually yes they were ordered your employee on the phone clearly didn't know the ranch was not included with salad. And now you the manager is hiding around the corner acting like a coward instead just admitting y'all made a mistake. It was no issue at all to pay for the ranch cups, but how the manager handled the whole interaction a terrible display of leadership skills.

Comeing from a back ground is the reastraunt industry of 40 years.pizza was a ok there was no heart put into it.the owner was sitting at a table wlth it looked to be his own family. Instead of running the place it was about half full 3 oclock on a Saturday. Place was a complete mess .out of forks tables not cleaned no service. Besides a elderly employee she was helpfull.kids screaming look to having a. Good time.i just think if you own a place be a leader and not. A person that just orders people around work with and harder than your employees. Trust me thay take notice and want to work as...

My wife and I went there for lunch with our family. The prices were reasonable but the food wasn't good. The buffet pizza tasted very doughy, only one I enjoyed was their cheese pizza. And the dessert pizza. They had some sides available as well, I had Mac n cheese which had no flavor. The corn puffs were good. After we ate we went into the game room with our kids. Half of the machines were broke down. We also had problems with a few of them eating our tokens and not actually playing. The place overall was dirty looking and had no energy in the atmosphere.
