We live less than a mile from The Kingdom & have been frequent patrons of the place since it opened.
Tonight (after deciding that it would be another good evening to hangout at our friendly neighborhood establishment) we arrived to a nearly empty Kingdom, while noticing a small section of tables adorned w/baloons that was apparently being reserved for an incoming private group, leaving well-over 50% of the remaining tables open & empty.
After approaching a gentleman standing at the host/hostess station, furiously cleaning menus, who failed to greet or even acknowledge our presence, we asked about a table for two. This generated no response from the man until, without even looking-up from his critical menu-disinfection task, he finally asked us, with surprising frustration, "How Many?"
We told him there were two of us (which would've been obvious if he'd bothered to even look at us) and said, "Well, you could sit at the bar." before going back to his menus. In response, we mentioned that we really did not want to eat our dinner at the bar, which elicited no response or acknowledgemet until I said, "Let's just go somewhere else." to which the man finally looked-up at us and followed with, "Have a good night."
Well, we eventually did and, rest assured, all of our future good nights will be had at establishments other than The Kingdom.
Being rude to customers is business malpractice under any circumstances & in the case of repeat customers who live just around the corner, it's just plain ignorant. I simply refuse to beg businesses to take my money if they just don't give crap whether I give it to...
Read moreWe really want to like this place but there are a few improvements we would recommend honestly No drink specials, no happy hour. When we asked, the bartender just said no. Once we got our check, we realized our drinks were already cheap!! We wouldâve ordered so many more had we known wells were already well priced. We came in around 430/5p and we were not offered a food menu or any suggestions and were not checked on until we asked for a second drink. We were there only 15 minutes before the bartender blatantly said we needed to tab out or transfer to the night bartender. The only person that seemed remotely happy to see us was the oncoming night bartender, and that was only a 30 second interaction.
We truly believe there is so much potential in this location and the restaurant looks super nice and there are tons of activities. Maybe this was just a one off experience but we are struggling to recommend because of our first experience after only a couple of...
Read moreYesterday we stopped in for a few drinks as we have done since the opening of this establishment, but unfortunately, our experience took a disappointing turn. We ordered domestic beers that were clearly listed at a certain price on the happy hour menu, only to find out when the bill came that we were charged more than advertised.
When we brought it up, the bartender didnât offer a clear explanation or adjust the charge. Mistakes happen, but thereâs no reason customers should have to pay more than whatâs printed on the happy hour menu. ( I would also assume every bartender knows what a domestic beer is)
Although the dollar amount was so minimal and irrelevant it left a sour taste to the way it was handled. (we are so spoiled by Christian's professional bartending skills as this incident would never occur with him)
I hope management takes note and updates their pricingâor at the very least, honors what...
