Once again people around this area hyped a pizza place up and it ends up being mediocre. I paid 25-26 for a large penne pizza with chicken, then another $23 for a pie with pepperoni. In my honest opinion, the prices are too high. Diving into the pizza…penne alla vodka pie was decent. Sauce didn’t impress me and tasted bland with no sweet taste like vodka sauce usually has. Chicken was nice, but they didn’t add enough to be charging the $4-5 add on price tag. Regular pie was okay…they added too much pepperoni (see pics). Garlic knots had too much garlic and were not worth it. The wings were solid…but I had to dress up my own wings with the hot sauce on the side. Overall - good place but not a one time a week place for me. I order pizza on the weekends to give the fam a break, but this doesn’t take the spot of another local place. I’m a pizza lover that is used to New Haven style Apizza (best in the U.S.) so my reviews on pies are usually spot on. Some tips…more sugar and garlic in the vodka sauce and take it easy on the peppo. Also, maybe lighten up on the garlic on the knots and even it out with some cheese. If that’s the pricing you need to make things work, than so be it. But compared to others around, the price is high for what you get. I’ll give them another shot some day, but for right now I think the review is where they stand currently. The service was great, young lady that took care of me in the front was friendly and welcomed me with a smile. This review drops a star for the price and another star for the rest listed above. Can’t be spending $60+ for 2 large pies, 6 piece wings, and some garlic knots for pickup. I hope they make some adjustments, as they are a solid addition to this town. I will update as I try...

Ate here once before but didn’t leave a review.

Ordered take out: Eggplant parm dinner w a side of fettuccine Alfredo, chicken Marsala, and a grandma pie with extra tomato sauce.

First off, the grandma pie is fabulous! Never had with pesto on it, but it’s a nice touch! Only negative here is charging $2 for extra tomato sauce. I ALWAYS order my pies with extra sauce and not once was I ever charged anything, let alone $2 for a ladle of sauce. Odd but whatever.

My daughter ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was out of this world! Deep rich flavor with lots of mushrooms, with a solid portion of pasta and chicken. We have to cater an event this spring and one of the items will definitely be the chicken Marsala!

My wife got the eggplant parm dinner with the pasta on the side with Alfredo. The Alfredo was very good. Needed a little salt but it’s better that way as customers can season how they like. The eggplant however wasn’t great. We are eggplant parm snobs, as I honestly make it better than any restaurant we’ve ever tried it. But that is one thing that home cooks usually make better than eateries.

All in all, a solid 4 out of 5. We will definitely return to try other dishes and use Lil Vinny’s for our son’s confirmation party this spring.

*edited… Upgrading to a 4.5. Just had leftovers: The eggplant parm was better than my wife described. Definitely much better than most restaurants. The sauce is very good so it...

Evaluating several pizza restaurants in the Oviedo area, we decided to try out Vinny's for the first time. We got (for take-out) an order of garlic knots and two 13-inch pizzas, a sausage and pepperoni, and a mushroom and extra cheese. The total came to just over $40.

The garlic knots (6) were quite large, a bit crunchy on top, and moist and chewy inside. They were served with a small container of marinara sauce. They were topped with a sprinkling of garlic, spices, and oil. The sauce was mild and decently fresh tasting, with small chunks of tomato. All in all, they were quite adequate as doughy rolls, but they could have been made much better with a greater seasoning to dough ratio. Folding in garlic with the dough would have helped. Also a little Romano cheese to add saltiness and sharp tang.

The pizzas were generously topped, the sauce was tangy, not sweet, and the crust was very thin. A very good New York style pair of pies. Impressively there was no grease bleed-in through the crust, despite the thinness. The meats gave off a pleasant aroma of pepper and a bit smoky, very nice. The taste was very fresh, and the sauce complimented the toppings very well. The mozzarella was cooked just right to blend and bind the toppings.

In summary, a pair of really tasty and expertly cooked pizzas. We will definitely return in the future and recommend this place to readers seeking a taste of top-notch New...
