First Street Eats — Restaurant in Owensville

If your idea of a great deal is an $8 "Club Sandwich" that consists of three wafer-thin slices of grocery store lunchmeat; two tomato slices and two pieces of lettuce slapped between two pieces of dry wheat bread, then this place is for you!

No fries on the side. No chips on the side. Not even a pickle spear. Mayonnaise in a packet alongside a knife are served on the side, however, since that is obviously too much of a bother for the kitchen staff.

Their $10 breakfast might be amazing (it should be for ten bucks!) and their desserts might be great as well, but if you're coming here looking for lunch....ummmmm....well...your money is better spent elsewhere.

Seriously? Eight bucks for a sandwich that could be made at home for around $0.45 cents? Maybe fifty cents with the troublesome mayonnaise that comes only as an optional side at this place? No thanks. And no wonder places to eat only last around ten minutes in Owensville.

Nice interior..clean. Food was good.. been here a few times. On this last visit, the waitress was not good. She chose to SIT with people she knew and talk instead of waiting the table. Sat for about 10 min before being waited on. She was not friendly and it seemed like a bother to take our order. She did not come back after we received our food. 1 party ran out of their drink, sat cup at end of table..to no avail. The owner came out and made rounds, clearing of tables and asking how food was..which was nice.. however, as much as we like the food and atmosphere and owner, we will unfortunately not be back for...

The roast beef sandwich with the horseradish cheese was so salty that I had to take the rest home and even with a ton of mayo it was still salty. I don't know who the chef was yesterday but they really need to know proportion. I dont think they realize that a few of us are on medication and should not be exposed to so much salt. Or just taste the food and if it doesn't taste right,...
