UPDATE: Since you didn't understand my evaluation, let me spell it out for you. When we came in, we only stayed for five minutes because there were several tables of people, none of whom had their food yet. None. Secondly, there were six people in line and NO ONE was waiting on them, and you were walking around, chatting with those same employees instead of helping to get food to the several tables waiting for their food OR the two employees who weren't waiting on anyone or working to fill orders. Perhaps they didn't want to offend you, who were chatting them up and showed no urgency to wait on the patiently waiting already seated customers, who looked like they wanted their food. Lastly, the last three times we were in your establishment, we were in line for over 45 minutes before our order was even taken! Granted, the food was great and we understood that chicken tenders take 20+ minutes to make, but Jim had said that if no one was waiting on customers and you were chatting and not helping customers, we'd go somewhere else. And we had jointly decided to not come back, when the owner sets such a bad example and we pay the price by giving up an hour of our lives waiting for someone with sub-par management skills and no caring about customer time. I worked in HR for 43 years, and if you were my employee, I'd fire you so fast it would make your head spin, if you didn't respond to coaching and a thirty day plan to help you fix your issues. We really liked you four years ago, but the service has gone steadily downhill, until we made our decision to spend our money at establishment that respected our time. Read through the complaints about wait times below with an open mind, and not with a mindframe of making excuses and putting it back on your customers. Good luck to you, and I hope you don't respond back with excuses or throwing shade. We won't be back because of you, and no other reason. Accept that or not, we don't care. I'd be impressed if you learned from this, but that is your personal decision and journey. PS: I've also built a thriving business, so I understand the challenges of small business ownership. I sold that business at a great profit and am now happily retired. This is one of the very few negative reviews I have ever left, so this is not my norm. Make of that what you will.
ORIGINAL POST: Food is great, but service was glacially slow. Owner walks around chatting, while there are several people in line waiting. No rush to wait on the folks in line. We walked out again, without ever getting waited on. We won't be going back. Lousy service =...
Read moreStraight-forward, no fuss chicken shop, with Great food, and a comfortable, relaxed setting. Set in a re-purposed bank, this classic, diner style establishment offers an open and spacious seating area, easy to move around even with the fullest of crowds. And even utilizes the Vault door as a passageway to a coin arcade, with video games, claw machines, and coin vending with kid friendly and favorite trinkets and treats. A diner/ice cream shop style room length dining counter. A young , energetic staff, that seems eager to please, confident, and ever so patient as you decide which entree and side to choose from the simple, easy to read menu board, or the numbered, customizable combo meals. Whether it's a burger, an appetizer, fried chicken meal, or something from the seafood selection, there's bound to be a new favorite for everyone with this menu of Classic American Fare . Last but not least, the deserts really steal the show. With both Vanilla and Chocolate soft serve. The flavor-burst system on the soft serve machine gives the welcome inclusion of several classic, to tropical flavors to compliment your confections. Available in cones, or dishes, even a novelty ball cap dish, in sizes from small to "Gargantuan" ( yes, it's actually on the menu) this is destined to be a local favorite. Shakes and concretes are on the menu , with a variety of add-ins, as well as other tasty treats. Although, on some, the sizes are limited. My only concern, in this pay, then sit restaurant, is the time it takes to order. The format lends itself to a small staff, this can cause some congestion with the incoming traffic as patrons select from their menu, specials, and combo board. This should improve over time, with regulars knowing and choosing their personal faves from memory. All in all, Snowensville Chicken and Burgers is a welcome addition to the area, and will be a personal go to. Hopefully for a long...
Read moreWe visit the area a few times a year to camp and are always looking for different places to break up the trip. This is definitely on our return list. Visited for the first time on a Friday. We cam in a side door so it wasn't clear right off if we sat or ordered at counter but pretty quickly someone acknowledged us. I usually am hesitant to get fried chicken because I'm picky about the breading, flavor etc however I had been told it was great so I took a chance and it was amazing-so juicy it was literally dripping when I broke open the breast piece. Grilled shrimp side was ok. Fries and tots cooked beautifully. The chicken sandwhich should just automatically come with a box -massive! I was pleasantly surprised at the prices and what you get. Portions were very generous. Free refill on the lemonades was appreciated and the ones in our party ended up trying all flavors and liked them equally. Ice cream had enough options to please everyone-again large portion sizes!
I was a bit confused when I was told to skip the tip part on the pay screen. We didn't want to leave without tipping and since I was planning to pay cash tip anyway I didn't sweat it but then noticed no one left a tip-gave the tip directly to a woman at the counter and expressed my slight confusion to which she said they discouraged tips, however there is a scholarship fund of some sort. I thought this was great and maybe there was a sign but I did not see it. This is something to be proud of -that you pay your folks a good wage and don't expect tips. 100...
