Mabuhay Asian Cafe — Restaurant in Owensville

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat on Friday night, so we came on in. We were so wonderfully surprised at the quality of the food, the friendliness of the service, and the unexpected freshness.

We tried the adobo pork, the chicken and cabbage, and the chicken with the noodles. They were all packed with flavor, we couldn’t stop eating. The rice texture was perfect and was a great complement to the main dishes.

The staff that took care of us were very friendly and engaging. Admittedly service did seem a bit disorganized at times, but everyone remained cheerful and it all worked out fine.

Since this is a new place, we were thrilled to see that they were very busy on a Friday night. We thought prices were more than reasonable we got a ton of food for the money. The prices and portions were so good, in fact, that my girlfriend and I are a bit concerned. We both love the restaurant so much, we’re really rooting for the place and hope that they’re making ends meet at these prices.

We can’t wait for the next time we’re coming past Owensville, although, truthfully, we’ll probably make the trip in the next few weeks just to return to Mabuhay.

Honestly I never give bad ratings, I hate to do so because it can hurt a business so I really do wish I could give more than a one star rating but the staff were ridiculously rude. Will never be returning here even if it were the only restaurant in town. My mother placed an order and online it said it came out to $53 but once she got there they told her they charged her $68 instead because we asked for no vegetables? How does that make sense lmao what. You’d think the price would go down with less food but alright then. Secondly when my mom called in since we asked for car side service they told my mom that they couldn’t hear her and that she needs to get a better phone and that she needs to come in and grab the food before hanging up on her. Who just tells a paying customer that they should have a better phone? Especially when you over charged us behind our back… this place is just sketchy, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The food was terrific. We were there a couple month's ago to see the county fair and stopped to get something cold to drink. Their Boba Teas are great and their icecream options are so good. Today we went back to try the food. We were not disappointed. My wife had orange chicken, a side of seasonal sauted veggies, fried rice, and a orange tea. I had the special bone marrow soup, fried rice, and a banana boba tea. Both dishes were so so good. Loved the fried rice. Very reasonable prices, very good portions, and excellent quality. The owners are such nice and friendly people Drove up from Rolla just to have lunch and will definitely do it again. This is the best Asian restaurant in the area.
