While at a bar I frequent, I tried a sour they had from Tobacco Wood Brewing, and wanted to see what else they offered. We decided to go to the Oxford location because it was a hair closer, and I needed to go to Oxford anyway. We were not disappointed in the least! They have a decent selection of beer, some of them rotate in and out (such as the “Cupid is as Cupid does” sour I had), which looks like it will keep things fresh, and you can take home a Crowler if it’s not something they normally bottle/can. It was pretty cool watching her pour, then seal a fresh can to go! It looks like they have a rotating kitchen too, and when we went there, Bigfoot BBQ was the food vendor. The food was fantastic (the loaded fries were amazing, and almost a meal by itself!), the barbecue sauce was really good (not too thick/thin), and the people were very friendly. When you order beer, you go to the bar, and with the food, it was brought out to where we were sitting. They are two separate companies, so the food is paid separate from the drinks, but that’s no big deal. This will definitely be added to our list of local favorites, and we will return again!

Okay. Love the beer, but the food (update! It's much improved!) ... Update: 5/18/2024 — they finally changed the menu and everything across the menu is infinitely better versus hit or miss. (One criticism: the chicken salad sandwich could use more chicken salad. Our friend removed one piece of bread making it essentially a 1/2 sandwich.) Great improvements. Update: 10/21/2021 I got the brisket philly, and my wife, one of the burgers. Both were very good. Her sangria and my mārzen were excellent. Previous review: """ Ugh. I try item after item and it just remains mediocre to poor. Man, I hate delivering these kinds of reviews, but I think infinite attaboys are not beneficial. I will adjust this if things improve. Just tried their chicken and waffles: chicken was good; waffles were good; but the maple syrup was some bargain-basement candy-sweet odd variety that just made what could have been great subpar. Tobacco Wood needs to really rethink their recipes and especially their ingredients. """ (End old review)

I looked at the menu in advance and wanted ALL the food. Made plans with family to meet for lunch and a drink. It was a beautiful day for a ride to Oxford. I love that the decor reflects it is a female veteran owned establishment with American flags all over. We got the Pimento dip to start, and our server, Ivy, recommended getting extra chips and veggies.. thank goodness. Not sure what the pita chips are made from, but holy moly they were good! I don't drink beer, but had a taste of the Cider and it was pretty good. I stuck with the Mimosas. Other items ordered were the chicken sandwich with okra and the chicken and Waffles. All were delicious and everything was priced very reasonable which was refreshing. Ivy and Blake took great care of us, were friendly and were hustling to serve everyone. We were there a while and there was a shift change. Kelly and Mark took the reins and were just as great. We will be back till we try ALL the food.

Going to go a little easy since this place just opened and they're still figuring it out, but overall I am pleased.

The service was attentive friendly and the owner is super nice and you can tell she loves what she's doing.

The food was hot and served fast. There is a system where you have to order at a register, take a number and sit down to wait for your food. This seemed to confuse people who didn't see a hostess and just sat down waiting for a server.

I hope the menu expands over time. Right now it is very small with few sides and not many I like. They were out of potato salad but informed me they had fries which were not on the menu. But they didn't tell my buddy that was an option and he he stuck with the least bad option. One common complaint I have at BBQ restaurants is the lack of quality sides so I hope this place rises above.

The BBQ sandwich was delicious. I had asked for no slaw but it arrived with slaw anyway. But it wasn't much so it didn't bother me. Normally places pile on the slaw so I just ask them to not put any on.

I had the IPA and the Cider. Both were awesome. Looking forward to when the Imperial Stouts are on tap.

I hope they make the decor and atmosphere stand out more to make it more unique. The walls were kinda bare. It would also be cool if they do watch parties and that sorta thing eventually. Oxford doesn't have anything like that.

I really see a lot of good with this place and my few issues all seem like they'll be ironed...

When we arrived at Tobacco Wood, we'd been on the road for a bit, and I rushed straight to the bathroom. By the time I came out, I encountered a most delightful sight: my 6 year-old daughter clutching a plastic cup filled with a bubbly pink liquid, happily declaring, "Mama, they made me a Shirley Temple! With a cherry!"

When we go to a brewery, I typically expect my husband will sample some beers he'll enjoy while my daughter and I sip water and eat a few bites of marginally good appetizers. This was definitely NOT our experience at Tobacco Wood.

Though I don't love beer, I do enjoy a good cider, and I started off with the Grizzly Pear--which was delicious. While I set my daughter up with her Shirley Temple and some toys, my husband finished ordering--and he picked some winners! The bbq nachos (on amazing homemade chips) and soft pretzel with cheese sauce were clearly fresh from the kitchen, and my husband delighted in his flight of beers. The service, while never overwhelming, was warm and easy-going, and I was particularly pleased to find I could even order a glass of wine for myself.

It's not often easy to find a brewery that has great beer and food, still offers wine, and welcomes whole families--but this one does all of that and more. We wish we lived closer and could...

We went there one rain-shortened ride, because we had heard Johnson Family BBQ was served there. As expected the food was wonderful. Service wasn't st great, but it was a new business and growing pains to be expected. A week or two later, we returned to the same great food, and improved service. Two weeks later, and I tried something simple and easy... a Chicken Salad sandwich. My friend got his BBQ sandwich promptly, and we began to joke about waiting for the eggs to hatch, before making the chicken salad. I asked the server what happened to my chicken Salad, and she went off to the kitchen... she came back with "they lost the order, ad are making it now". A few minutes later, she returned with a grilled chicken sandwich, . I decided the wrong lunch was better than no lunch. No apologies, no we'll comp this, nothing, just business as usual Still one out of 3 isn't terrible We returned yet again... and this time ordered the special "Brisket tacos" Brisket taco would be more like it, a single taco, cut into 4 pieces, and it was NOT particularly good. Oh well it was "nice" to have a go-to-place, that was close enough for a short ride, but we could still squeeze in...
