Veranda Cafe — Restaurant in Oxford

Went inside for the very first time to pick up my pizza that I called ahead. When I arrived, the pizza was just about ready and came out at a good time. I paid for my food and then I sat down in the other room where they have the tables. The owner then comes into the room where I was sitting at a table about to enjoy my nice pizza and says to me “Excuse me sir. You cannot be sitting in there. You have to call for service ahead of time. You can eat in here though” (meaning the other smaller room where I guess people pick up their food when they’ve placed an order to go, or dine in if they haven’t called ahead for service). That’s very unusual for most restaurants to have their customers do. The owner was so rude, even though he offered for me to eat in the smaller room. I ended up walking outside the restaurant and ate the pizza unhappily in my car. Tasted good, but was not a welcoming dine in experience. Will never spend my money at this terrible place again or support such an ignorant owner who’s upset so many other reviewers. Ain’t going back there ever again, nor would I recommend this junkyard to...

Ordered food about a half hour before closing. A steak and cheese and fries. I get it delivered and there are fries and pita bread wrapped up so it looks like a sub on the outside 😂 i called and the woman said sorry we are closed so i hurried up and said what was wrong and that they robbed me and she just wanted to hang up. Called back. She blamed the dasher. Did the dasher get your food wrap paper and pita bread and put it in my bag because they were too lazy to make a sub? Highly doubt the dasher took it and did all that. I was a dasher. Honesty you could just take the food and get away with it so theres no point in that extra effort.watch out for this shady family pizza shop. The grill area is definitely not clean. This has been our go to place for quite some time. We always went to another local place but this was less expensive and really like the food. A couple times I’ve witnessed the owner yelling at people!! That includes an employee 🤦‍♀️ and a nice family who innocently came in and sat down with their 2 children. Owner comes and yells at them asking why they sat down. They must follow the rules and wait to be seated. They quietly walked out and I don’t blame them. He’s RUDE. Not sure how you stay in business with that nasty attitude. It’s a pizza place not a fine dining restaurant. People can usually walk in and sit especially when not one person was dining at the time.
