El Pollo Norteño — Restaurant in Oxnard

I can't say enough good things about the food here. The Tri Trip is amazing, the grilled chicken is awesome as well. I used to be able to eat basically two meals (a separate chicken meal and then a tri tip meal) but now I'm down to just a combo with the two. I have been going here since I was a child and they were at a different location on Oxnard Blvd which I think closed (parking was an issue as well as being a smaller location). I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and they catered my child's baptism as well. The service is great, they treat you like family. I have never had a bad meal here either dining in or take out. One of the best Mexican style chicken and tri-tip restaurants around. The food is authentic not a commercialized form of Mexican grill. You get healthy portions of very tasty food. I like the chicken and tri-tip combos and bowls they are the best. The salsa is mild but fresh and adds to your meals flavor, it doesnt drown it out or made so hot you cant enjoy the meal. The best restaurant ever with taste. I personally turned to eating less meat but if I had a choice to go anywhere to eat tri-tip and chicken, it would be this place without a doubt I was so sad when I saw their other location close down because this is one of those restaurants A lot of people don’t really know about, yet they have been around for so many years.

Their salsa is delicious and their flour tortillas are some of my favorite. I hope they stay open for another 40 years, if not, I hope I stay in contact with the owners of this restaurant, so I can continue...
