I've traveled from the north to the south of Greece and never heard a collective "όπα!" when entering a restaurant. Sure, I've heard it yelled when breaking plates in a Greek restaurant, but I was only handed a plastic tray here: nothing worth throwing and saying "όπα!" over. "όπα!"..."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” -- Inigo Montoya... In any case, it is the only gyro place near me, and they are tasty and large-portioned. At $15 a gyro with fries, it is probably the most expensive gyro I've ever had. We are talking about Greek "fast food"...gyros shouldn't be expensive. At least it is enough food to last you almost all day. The fries were acceptably seasoned but terribly fried: soggy and limp. The side of garlic sauce helped to hide the disappointment in the lack of frying skill. Compared to anywhere else in the world with gyros, I'd give Gyromania 3 stars, but for southern California I guess I'll throw in a 4th star for being something different from typical Mexican, Chinese, or Jack in the Box food...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend's favorite restaurant in Ventura County! We tried sooo many restaurants during our time living here and most places end up being bland or just lacking compared to what you can get in bigger cities or abroad. Gyromania THANKFULLY! breaks the mold and just SLAPS!
We always get a gryo wrap plate w/ fries + a lamb chop plate w/ rice and split them equally between ourselves. We have smiles on our faces the entire time we eat and always have some extras to take home. Make sure to get the garlic sauce on the side! It's super yummy to mix into the rice and is an amazing dip for the fries. The portions they serve are hefty too!!! Always feel like we're getting our money's worth.
Their service has improved over the months too! Quicker times for food and more workers to help out with taking orders. We notice!!! Seriously the best! Hope they expand more...
Read moreRandom pick on our way back home. The staff greeted us right away, very friendly, good selection and I was happy they offered breakfast. Restaurant and bathrooms were super clean, sanitizers all over too. Manager/owner came in and asked us how our food was, offered additional sauces and an ice cream to my son if he ate his fries! Haha. So sweet. Portions were generous and I took half home for the next day. We'd definitely come back.
The only con - was our order wasn't sent out together and my bf wanted to wait to eat together. Otherwise, really good! The watermelon juice was sooo good. I...
