The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — Restaurant in Oxnard

I’m sorry, but I’ve held off on leaving a review for this place for sometime now because I’m a local .. but I’ve just had it and need to say it…. This place has the worst energy! It’s like you walk in there and you almost feel depressed and almost like you’re bugging people. And it’s not everyone there but enough to make it uncomfortable I don’t know quite how to explain but I can’t stand it anymore and I won’t be going back.

What pushed me over the edge ? I get the same thing EVERY TIME . Large Cold brew no ice … leave $6 No difference this time asked for a large gave $6, but this time I get a medium instead, no biggie.. I get it, and when I mentioned that I ordered a large, I was told that I ordered a medium. Ok, no, but whatever …. Went over and reminded the cashier. She said well I put your change in the tip jar, I said well take it out and add it to the purchase that I asked for… and ofcourse, I get the attitude as if I was the bother… You know… if I’m gonna go in and spend $6 dollars for a coffee i’d expect to at least be greeted well.. spoke to nicely and respectfully, nothing overboard.. you don’t have to suck up or any of that crap.. just make it a point to be nice.. just have an overall better interaction with your customers. For example This Melissa that works there has been there id guess a year or two now and since day one, zero customer service, no eye contact, very short, like I’m a pain the ass or something… I don’t remember any ‘pleases’ or ‘thank you’ just no common courtesy.. she’s always just been very borderline rude and cold, and no different this morning… just an overall rude interaction. I’m quite surprised she’s still there actually. I have been popping into this place a couple times a week and on and off for 5 or 6 years, I think Kyle was a great manger and the lady that’s there now is nice too .. but this last year or so I only come here if I forget to get coffee at my other spot because I just don’t like coming here .. I don’t like the energy. I know my lack of presence isn’t going to cause the place to close down and also me choosing not to go there isn’t going to affect my life either but the fact is this is unnecessary. I’d hope upper management sees this review and maybe makes some changes. But not likely. It’s unfortunate since it’s in such a prime spot. But either way I’ll find another coffee shop and I’m confident I’m not the only person that feels this way. I’m in the community and I hear from others that won’t go there anymore or restrict visits / purchases for the same or...

Unfortunately service has gone way down. The new employees have not been trained on how to make the drinks. Multiple times this month alone I've bought a Chai Latte the description is

"A delicious blend of freshly brewed Chai Tea, steamed non-fat milk and our French Deluxe™ vanilla powder. Our special Chai recipe is blended by hand using only the finest Darjeeling black tea from India, cinnamon cloves, cardamom, and other spices."

And multiple times my drink has been made without the French Deluxe Vanilla Powder. I've also bought a pure Ice blended drink and twice this month it had coffee in it. (This is a "kid friendly" drink.)

This location is near my house and I've been going here since this location first opened but sadly I'm now going to the Rose or Ventura locations because it's rare when my drink is made correctly and I order it as it's on the menu. I've never had my drink made incorrectly before, and I've been going to Coffee Bean for decades now.

Mistakes happen, but I'm in there multiple times a week and sometimes multiple times a day and for only 3 drinks this month to be made correctly is pretty low out of the 19 I've bought. We're not even talking about the incorrectly made drinks during January or December.

6/15/2025 -- Sunday/Father Day At Tradewind Harbor Oxnard 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠 My name is Arlene I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT I ORDERED A HOT TEA is Jasmine Dragon TEA THIS MORNING AROUND 10AM at Coffee Bean in Tradewind Harbor Oxnard AND I I always order my hot tea every day before I go to work at Coffee Bean in Rose Oxnard I don't have any problem for a hot water refill for my tea. And this is the first time I ever encountered this problem. At Coffee Bean Tradewind Oxnard Harbor I ASK TO THE STAFF FOR A REFILL HOT WATER FOR MY TEA. AND THEY TOLD ME TO GO INLINE & THERE WAS A LONG LINE for there's a long line for CUSTOMERS. AND THEN I ASK THE CASHIER STAFF FOR A REFILL HOT WATER FOR MY TEA. AND SHE SAID IT COST $1.00 DOLLAR FOR A REFILL HOT WATER FOR MY TEA. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED & I AM NO T HAPPY!! BECAUSE THEY CHARGE $1.00 FOR A HOT WATER REFILL FOR MY TEA!! JUST FOR HOT WATER!!
