Toppers Pizza — Restaurant in Oxnard

My husband and I have been loyal customers of this Toppers location since 2019, regularly ordering from them as a reliable and convenient dinner option—especially on nights when I need a break from cooking. Unfortunately, that long-standing relationship came to an abrupt and disappointing end last week.

We were unexpectedly unable to place our usual online order and were informed that our address had been flagged, with instructions to contact corporate for clarification. After some digging, we learned the reason: during a past delivery, my husband—at home and in his own space—answered the door without a shirt on, which reportedly made the driver uncomfortable. While we understand the importance of employee comfort and safety, it’s troubling that such a minor and subjective issue would result in a blanket refusal to serve a loyal customer household.

It’s disheartening to see a business we trusted for years allow a single employee’s questionable judgment to impact its customer service in such a significant way. We’ve always appreciated Toppers for its quality and consistency, but this experience has raised concerns about how customer situations are handled internally. I have visited all three Toppers places in Oxnard and by far this is my favorite. This place is a two story building right next to the harbor. View is a sight to see as you are right next to the boats and can see the water. Lines can be quite long but I have never had a problem finding where to sit.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Salad at most Toppers places are top of the line. Things are fresh and they constantly have their staff replenishing. I usually go for the small salad plate as a starter whilst waiting for pizza. Their jalapeño poppers are really good and mainly an appetizer.

Pizza, this is definitely what differentiates Toppers from other pizza places. Their pizza is top quality pizza made with fresh ingredients. My favorite is hot honey with the honey on side and also pepperoni with roasted garlic cloves. Usually, I order a medium and do half hot honey and half pepperoni with roasted garlic cloves. Toppers also has the best ranch IMO.

First time I got to order the pizza and pick what I want on it! Ordered online for delivery. First time doing that as well. It was easy peasy and pizza came in 30 min as promised! Faster than Uber Eats! I ordered a large pizza half with Toppers combo with added roasted tomatoes and pineapple. The other half was the spicy Italian with added roasted garlic. I also added to my order the jalapeño poppers which aren't fried but baked and stuffed with a sweet cream cheese and bacon. Plus of course some ranch dressing. Pizza came hot and not kidding you... Friggin DELICIOUS!! My brother could not stop eating it because it was so good. I told him to stop hogging it all up. But great job Toppers.. For a delivery charge of only $2.00 and your order gets to you in 30 minutes... It's so worth it to get it to your door. Plus the damn pizza is just so yummy so why wouldn't you...
