It’s hard to believe that a restaurant can retain the quality of the dish that made it famous and keep the recipe secret for over 60 years, but Kentucky Fried Chicken has somehow managed to do that. I ate at one of two local KFC restaurants today and traded a coupon and $3.50 for a fried chicken meal – two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, and biscuit, and paid an extra dollar for a giant glass of fairly good iced tea. The chicken was moist and tender inside with a crunchy crust (I think pressure cooking is part of the process?) and a biscuit that wasn’t homemade but had hot and fluffy in its favor. There was no doubt the potatoes were instant, the gravy wasn’t made from the pan drippings like my mama taught me and it’s brown instead of white, but it’s hot and makes the potatoes taste better.
For years, I have yearned for Colonel Sander’s recipe for 11 secret herbs and spices, but that recipe and vials of the herbs and spices are kept locked in a vault in Louisville, KY.
However you order your chicken at KFC - by the basket, bucket or by the plate (with more pieces of chicken and more sides), it’s budget friendly and after all these years, still finger lickin’ good. Read morePoor poor poor when even the assistant manager can't even take an order. It gets better from here. I reordered same meal as before, manager told me it was going to be free!! I told her NO, I will pay for that meal I did not call back to get charity but rather get my meal. OK! I get there Order the first time was $11 this time the had the nerve to try and charge me $15!!

Read moreThe person that took my money was very nice. The man who brought out our food looked like he could be some sort of manager was not very friendly. I ordered two $20.00 fill ups. We ordered the coleslaw as one of the sides. Everyone that tried it said it was the worse. We thought it was expired. The chicken was more greasy than normal. I called the restaurant. The woman that i spoke with said no one else had complained about the slaw. So I'm guessing she didn't believe me. After me just saying ok that's fine. She offered "to make it right" as she called it, but I said no. I told her we would not be coming back. I'm not supporting restaurants that think I just want something...
