The moment we walked up to the hostess stand it was clear hospitality wasn't on the menu. There was a rope blocking access to the restaurant causing a bottleneck of people entering and exiting. A couple was already waiting but said they had been assisted by the hostess, so when she approached, we stepped up. Instead of being greeted with a hello, the hostess frantically told us "I'm sorry, it's a fifteen minute wait." We said that's fine and asked if she needed our name and she said no, leaving us to stand there to hold our place in line as more and more people walked up. This included a couple who asked if the bar was available to sit at, which the hostess said was available, an accommodation not offered to us or the couple in front of us. Unfortunately, the couple who inquired about sitting at the bar got the last two seats available. Shortly after that, another couple walked up and asked if they could step up to the bar to order a drink and the hostess said the bar is backed up and they couldn't allow anyone else in at the moment. It then became clear that the restaurant was understaffed. With only one server on the floor and one bartender, it was no wonder they had to put up a rope to block things off. What wasn't clear was why the hostess couldn't take our names so we could sit and relax in the waiting area next to the hostess stand. Doing so would have reduced congestion and confusion at the entrance and made for a better experience all around. When we finally were seated, we made certain we were ready to order as it was clear the server was overwhelmed. To her credit, she came to our table promptly and took our order. My husband ordered a cocktail which we waited for patiently since we were already aware of the bar being backed up. Our food came quickly after his cocktail arrived and everything was good, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The restaurant seemed ill prepared to handle the volume of guests staying at the resort, which is surprising given the fact that they should know the occupancy of the resort and staff the restaurants accordingly. If you're staying at the resort, your choices are limited, so if you want a better experience, be prepared to...
Read moreWe made a reservation and requested a window seat. When we arrived at 6:45 to check in the hostesses advised there was now window seat available. She told us to make sure we were back by 7:00. We said no problem will have a drink at the bar. So off we went to the driftwood lounge. When we returned at 7:00 there was a table at the window however we were brought to a table in the back of the restaurant when we asked why she was sitting us here we were told the waitress for that table had too many tables. So we sat down and placed our order. My husband ordered Prime rib medium rare with a side salad and asked for Blue cheese dressing. I ordered a Caesar salad and seared salmon. A few minutes later the waitress came out and said they did not have blue cheese dressing. My husband inquired what dressing do you have she advise they did have Ranch he said fine. The salad came out wilted. While trying to find our waitress the meal came out. My husbands prime rib was over cooked my Cesar was wilted and the leaves were brown and melee . My husband asked for the manager who was not even on site. While I waited at the table I notice at another table where three people were brought to their table and they asked why they could not have the window table. The same table that was still empty and three other window tables were open now. This was only 15 minutes since we sat down. Normally I my husband does not get angry but deals with everything graciously.
Not only was the service terrible but the food...
Read morePros- Solvai was our waitress and was very kind and quick.
Cons- Joe the bartender was observed by myself being rude to other customers. A gentleman was waiting alongside a dirty table to be seated (it’s a seat yourself lounge) Joe rudely scolded him aloud in front of anyone within hearing distance, which is quite frankly the entire restaurant. The gentleman apologized immediately and tried to explain why he was waiting and the bartender interrupted him and repeated himself, treating him like a child. It was a very awkward moment and it left me feeling uncomfortable. After the interaction I watched the bartender stand behind the bar with his arms crossed for approx 2-5 min not doing a dang thing, he could have easily wiped down the table, but instead waited on one of the wait staff to wipe it down for him. Poor representation of how a restaurant should run. The atmosphere was off, no soft music playing, tv on mute, it was very quite yet noisy at the same time. The menu was very limited and doesn’t offer “lounge”appropriate food...
