I have never in my life seen so much incompetency from a restaurant crew in my life. We pulled into a parking space at the Dairy Queen in Palaicos, TX on the evening of Wednesday, March 17, 2021. We were a group of 6 people. We had our order written down so that the 2 individuals that walked into this Dairy Queen could tell the order taker exactly what we wanted without any problems. About a half an hour later I walked into the Dairy Queen to find out why we hadn't received our food yet. I was advised by my niece that she had everything under control. I my niece told the young boy that brought the food out that she was going to check the food. I had made the statement that these aren't doctors & lawyers that we are dealing with. I had ordered a fried chicken sandwich. Wouldn't you know it. Instead I got a hamburger instead. So about 20 minutes later after everyone else's food was cold a different boy brought out my fried chicken sandwich. I wanted to know how we spent over $70.00 for cold food & bad service. I walked inside to ask this same question to the young female Hispanic manager on Duty. The mod was hiding in the drive thru. She wouldn't even come talk to me . Any sensible restaurant management staff would try to resolve this kind of situation before I it was raised to a whole new level & tempers started rising. There was another lady in this Dairy Queen at the same time that had waited over 20 minutes for 2 cheeseburgers. The lady had been driving for 10 hours. She was tired & hungry. This lady had had to wait for over 20 minutes for 2 simple hamburgers. I am amazed this manager& crew still have a job after last night. Someone at some point should have stepped in and precooked every single one of our burgers & fries & chicken dumplings, etc. We were at this Dairy Queen for 50 minutes waiting on our order for only 6 individuals. What would this Manager & crew do if a bus full of highscool athletes pulled in or a bus full of senior citizens on a tour bus? I would score the Dairy Queen in Palaicos, TX a big zero if I could. 2). Two days ago my wife went through the drive thru & picked up a couple ice cream blizzards, one of these blizzards was for me. She ordered a mint chocolate chip blizzard. What she came home with was a mint Oreo blizzard. Does anyone that works at the Palaicos, TX Dairy Queen understand simple English & have a clue that if they cannot satisfy their customers their doors will close/out...
Read moreIf I could give a negative for the service and atmosphere, I would. A manager should never behave this way. We went to DQ Sun, Oct 27th. It was a large group of us that went in giving them plenty of business. When my son-in-law received his order, he received two orders of 4 chicken strip meals. He had ordered one 4 piece and one 6 piece meal. As soon as he received the order, he went to the counter to let them know he only received 4 instead of 6. The young man at the counter apologized and said he would take care of it. Here's when we have a problem. The manager on duty, Naomi, was very rude and unprofessional. The young man told her the problem, and she made a face and said they were short on chicken, so it would be a while. My daughter went up a little later and was going to ask for my mom's ice cream that went with her meal. Naomi told her, "You are with that big group with that guy, right?" She then proceeded to tell her they ordered a 6 and 4 piece, and that's what they got. My other daughter, who was not on the same order with him, said they only got two 4-piece meals. Naomi then put the receipt in front of her and told her this is what they ordered and what they got. Then condescendingly said, "Do you understand?" My daughter again told her she understood what was ordered, but that was not what he ended up with. My husband was passing by at that time and told her, "Why would we steal 2 chicken strips?" They did end up bringing the 2 chicken strips, but Naomi glared at us the whole time throughout our time sitting there. We would have ordered desserts too, but we didn't want to give them any...
Read more5 star for the service. 1 star for the manager on duty Friday night Sept 13 2024.
This has been bugging me so I just need to get it out there.
Friday night me and a friend stopped at DQ and they were pretty busy.
There's a young girl that I've seen there several times and she's always be super polite and always has a smile on her face.
Well Friday night she was working the register, making ice cream, taking food to tables, and even taking curbside orders out to cars in the parking lot.
There was an older man waiting on food when I got there and he was still there waiting when I finished my burger.
The female manager noticed and went to see what he was waiting on so she could figure out what happened.
She then ripped into this young girl accusing her of giving someone the wrong order.
Note I didn't see anyone come back saying there order was wrong while I was there and watched the manager herself deliver an incomplete order.
When all this went down the young girl said she didn't take the wrong order and the manager immediately threatened to fire her. I gotta give the girl credit for standing her ground. All this went down in front of the customers.
Come on DQ do better
We all know things happen, but your managers are the captains of the ship. There job is to keep the ship on course and safely correct it's direction if it gets off course.
You DO NOT threaten to throw your ship mates overboard and you absolutely don't do that in front of the customers.
If this young lady leaves because of the way she was treated, talked down to, and belittled in front of the customers you are 100%...
