Matamoros Taco House — Restaurant in Palacios

I am from out of town. I had heard nothing but great things about this establishment. Walked in, and the young lady didn't even smile, no hello, nothing. Just looked at me as if she were annoyed. I told her this was my first time here. I saw the posting where they only took cash and checks only and I asked her, just to verify, that they didn't take credit cards and she just looked at me. So I politely said "Thank you," and left. This was very disappointing because I do like to support "mom & pop" businesses. I didn't feel welcome at all and almost felt guilty for walking in. Looked at my options online and I went to Chelis instead and the customer service was the complete opposite. I'm sure Matamoros has amazing food and some amazing customer service, but I guess I just chose an odd time when they were not on their game. That's too bad....

My family and I are visiting an RV park here from out of town and came inside this restaurant for breakfast. On the sign it says dine in or to-go orders. We are a family of 6 and upon walking in there is a larger party eating, and a couple other smaller families. I asked if we could push 2 smaller tables together to fit our party of 6 and was rudely told “No. To-go orders only so no.” We just wanted to sit down at a restaurant and eat some breakfast so we made our way out.
