Delicious Pho in the burbs has been found!
It’s been such a long journey to find delicious pho in the northwest burbs and the search is now over. Having grown up in the city, minutes away from Argyle, and having eaten at the homes of many Vietnamese friends, I fell in love with delicious Vietnamese food… with an all time top favorite, Pho!
Now my search is over! Pho San Ha has all the delicious flavors and authenticity of eating at a Vietnamese family’s home! We ordered the combination pho, the rare and cooked beef pho, fresh spring rolls, fried shrimp rolls, and the combination fried rice.
The pho was delicious; the broth rich with beefy aromatic flavor and refreshing. It was perfectly seasoned and didn’t taste oily like many places around the burbs. It’s very evident that time and care was taken to develop the broth. There was plenty of meat in both types of pho. The rare and cooked beef weren’t sliced paper thin which is very appreciated because we could enjoy the meat. They included plenty of accompaniments for us to customize our bowl (cilantro, bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime, jalapeños, hot sauce and sweet hoisin sauce). The pho was so good our son drank every sip of the broth and ate all of his noodles (which doesn’t happen too often).
The spring rolls were incredibly fresh with nice crispy shrimp, fresh vegetables, and a flavorful dipping sauce. The fried shrimp rolls were my son’s favorite. Fried to perfection with a whole shrimp, not just cut up pieces. My other son really liked the fried rice. It was moist with thin slices of beef that was flavorful and juicy, plump medium sized shrimps, and tender chicken pieces. There was plenty in an order to make 2 meals for a hungry teenager!
I called and placed our order. The woman taking my order was polite and friendly, she made sure she got the order correctly, and the ready time was reasonable! Picking up, she was sweet and welcoming. The location isn’t huge, but there were plenty of tables for dining in and customers eating there looked like they were enjoying their dining experience. No one was seated too close to each other which is nice. Next time we...
Read moreWas starving & wanted to go somewhere new & different, so I tried this resturant surprisingly it's near me! Very delicious, like each plate was $14 or less. Food was fresh & hott! The menu has hard names, the good news that you can just order the # . I thought the portions were going to be smaller but look at the pictures it was a full plate. Amazing service keep checking on me & giving me constant refill on my water, without me even having to ask her. She even said she is glad I came & will be waiting to see me back soon! Me & my mom ate everything on the plate including the decorations, we got full (even tho we thought we had to order more food before we actually saw the portion size of the food on the plate). I did go back again since it's great food for reasonable price's. Amazing service like last time! I believe these are the #'s of the food, #1 is a spring roll (healthy) #2 egg roll #21 pork chops, egg, ham, 1/2 sausage & white rice & #33 combo of 🐔, beef & 🍤...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the best spots to eat in this area, period. Over the past 6 years I’ve been here dozens of times, and it has never disappointed.
I have pretty much exclusively ordered pho when I go here, because that is all I crave. The broth feels like it was made with love and you can taste that has been simmering for hours and hours.
The place is small, but you always feel comfortable, like being in someone’s home. The atmosphere is something I love about small restaurants like this.
The main owner who has been there every time I’ve visited is extremely nice and hospitable.
The only thing that has bummed me out a little bit is they have changed their hours from 4-8:30pm, eliminating the chance to go during lunch, which is when I would always go. Fingers crossed they open back up for lunch.
Easily one of the best choices in the area if you’re looking to eat pho, maybe just bring a...
