Tacos El Norte — Restaurant in Palatine Township

I been going to this place off and on for 24 years. It has the best Mexican food in palatine and I like the owner, but I’m not going back there any more. About a year or two ago I ordered two burrito dinners. One for my wife that had everything and mines with just cilantro and onion. For some reason unlike usual they burnt the meat and they made the order wrong. So I called for a refund and they said no. I kept calling and they finally gave me my money back. I went there a bunch of times after and had no problems. But I went there yesterday and I ordered a burrito dinner with cilantro and onions. The tall lady asked me for the second time “cilantro and onion” to check what I wanted. I was looking to see when my food was going to be ready and I looked away for a minute and the food came out of no where. When I took the food home and cut it in half it had a lots of meat but it had tomatoes and lettuce only. I was disappointed and the owner gave me a full refund. I feel as though they are bias again me and I won’t be going back...

I usually come to this restaurant with a group of about 6 to 8 coworkers and for the most part have enjoyed most meals. The last time We were there I ordered the “Tampiqueña” dish, first, all the dish was not all there and I pointed that out and reluctantly they braught out the rest of the food. I ate everything but the Spanish rice which I was saving for last. I put the fork through it and lifted up a long hair😳. The feeling in my throat was a bit discusting, the one in my stomach was worse. I pointed this out to my coworkers and there was a consensus that because we went there so often they would make it right. I got a waitress, showed her, she took the dish to the manager, “a short lady that paint her hair blonde “ she made a face and called it good. I still received a bill, not that I was trying to get out of paying, but the still the full price. It’s the principle of the matter. She apologized while ringing me up 🤷🏽‍♂️. They lost a good group of people’s business because of this. I don’t recommend this...

Ordered Tacos from this location for the first time, I order online and followed the instructions after ordering . When I arrived I called I explained I ordered and was there waiting she told me the food was coming that they closed until 10pm didn’t give an estimated time didn’t bother on checking on my order after I already waiting for 30 mins per the estimated pick up time . I waiting another few mins got down the lady was so rude no greeting she was so bother I asked about a pick up order and kept rolling her eyes .. she was so bothered to pack my order that was just sitting there waiting to be placed in bag , who knows for how long. They were not busy didn’t understand the delay . So disappointed the lady had such horrible attitude the unnecessary rolling of the eyes for simply asking about my order especially because it was my first time there .
