I have been driving past this restaurant for over 7 years and finally gave it a chance today. I wanted to see if their pollo asado was the same as the one we eat in Colombia or if it was more like the Costco one (nothing wrong with Costco but the flavor is different) any way, I was surprised that they not only sell pollo asado but other meals as well.
I was NOT a fan of the menu display though because they have some screens where the menu changes every second, literally so it's quite difficult to choose and make decisions. I will suggest they add a few more seconds to it so it is easy to read (I'm not even old to say I can't read fast enough)
Other than that, the whole is $24 but if you want sides is $27 so I decided to take the whole meal and give it a try. I think $24 is a bit steep for one whole chicken only ($15 or $18 would be more reasonable in my opinion).
Now let's talk bout flavor: if you are Colombian and miss Pollo Asado in Sundays then you will be HAPPY to know this chicken taste the same! A whole pack of Tortillas El Milagro were added as well. Overall, I will definitely come back when I'm craving some pollo asado. The service was very good and the place looked clean. May I add I came for a take out and it was ready within minutes so it is a wonderful place of you are running late with Lunch or dinner to get take out from.
Also I did notice they sell chicken for events and you can even buy 5 to 100 of them 😅 I never saw advertisement like that but oh well,...
Read moreI am giving it 3 stars because their chicken is very good when fresh. It’s a hit or miss for chicken freshness, sometimes it juicy and hot and sometimes it’s hot but very dry where you know it’s been sitting there a while.
But I give it a “ZERO” for customer service. They are either rude and/ or they NEVER listen to you on changes you make to your order. You can see that when you are talking to you they give you a look that goes past you. I am giving you my business and really gets to me when they treat you like they are doing you a favor. And it’s been almost all of them. They don’t seem happy and seem bothered you are there. And every time you clearly ask them for changes to your order and they NEVER do it, they never apologize... they never smile.
Today, I order a steak torta w no veggies but add rice and extra avocado for an extra charge. What do I get? A steak torta that only had burnt steak and cheese w a side order of hard rice. The cheese was just a dark plaster since both steak and cheese were burnt to a crisp and the half chicken plate was dry.
I usually order from time to time and that’s because of the hit or miss of their fresh chicken and we also order for our big parties but I am not sure I want to go back because of their attitude of not caring and their hot or miss fresh food. They really need to change...
Read moreThis an authentic family restaurant and yes the will be children and families, which for some reason was a concern for other reviewers... That being said, the food is incredible I want a job here just so I can learn to make their chicken. I've been here probably 10 times and I always think to myself as I leave "I need to come here more". They have like 6 out 7 different Salsas and there all delicious and full of flavor. The rice is perfect, and their baked bean recipe should be guarded by the military.
I never really know what's going on when I'm ordering as far as far meal I'm asking for and what I'm going to pay. I just ended up with half of a chicken, beans, rice, 6 tortillas, grilled onions and jalapenos for under 10$ and as I sit here full and lightly perspiring from a dark red salsa, I happily would have paid twice the price.
This isn't a fine dining experience, with classy modern interior and snobby waiters, it is the best authentic Mexican BBQ joint I have ever come across. Despite being the only white guy in her I was greeted with a smile and friendly hello.
Oh they have one of those punch cards for a free meal too. I...
