It seems to be an authentic style Mexican Restaurant and not Tex-Mex style. We visited this past Saturday for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. Staff was super sweet, played the birthday song over the music speakers, and sang happy birthday to him several times. Wait-time for food wasn't long, it was hot and fresh when it hit the table. I ordered their 3 enchilada plate with a cheese, a beef, & a chicken enchilada with Spanish rice & beans. I really enjoyed their rice and cheese enchilada covered in queso sauce. The refried beans were runny instead of thick. The homemade flour tortillas and the bottled Mexican coke were delicious. My friends enjoyed their breakfast tacos/burritos. We had a lovely time overall. It was $15 for the enchilada plate and $3-4 for the coke.

Great restaurant!! I tried ordering a chile relleno since that's my fav dish but it was 10am and they didn't have any but that's understandable as they were only serving breakfast most likely.. I'm not a mexican breakfast kind of person so I got enchiladas and they were delicious.. The first thing I try are the beans and rice; both tasted great!! The enchiladas themselves were every good.. The tortillas wefluffy and delicious.. I don't visit Palestine much and probably won't for a while so I'm a little disappointed but if I ever do go back, I will revisit to finally try the chiles rellenos

The old Pit Grill building looks different these days. Today, we ventured out into the cold - because nobody felt like cooking - and decided to try the newest Mexican food restaurant. The sign from the road said "South texas flavor and homemade tortillas", that is definitely a reason to try it out. The food was delicious; Carne asada a la Mexicana, Chicharron en salsa and a bowl of Menudo. The chip salsa was so good I had to bring some home. AND yes the Flour and Corn tortillas were homemade - they also sell by the dozen. la patrona mexican restaurant

Thanks you're a truly made with love and not preprocessed like a lot of the places here in Palestine. Remember good food takes time this isn't a sit-down order your food comes up two minutes later. There's going to be a small weight but is well worth it. Staff is nice The food is just simply unreal how it tastes complete freshness and every bite. If you want authentic food cooked with love this is the place to go. If you want pre-processed junk and microwaved and cooked several hours in advanced please continue to keep going to Lobo's little Mexico...
