Jejudo Kkochi — Restaurant in Palisades Park

I came here for dinner with my husband and had an absolutely amazing experience at Jejudo Kkochi on Broad Avenue. We ordered the lamb skewers, pig skin, and stir-fried squid -- all of which were delicious. The lamb skewers were tender and had a great crisp to them, and the stir-fried squid was hands-down my favorite dish of the night. The batter was so light yet crispy. I also really enjoyed the cucumber scallion salad served as a side -- super refreshing and pair well with the meat.

The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. The owner is friendly, and the overall vibe is very relaxed. They also serve beer and soju, which is a nice touch.

The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the seasoning on the skewers -- I felt it could have used a bit more flavor. Also, while the electric grilling machine is convenient, it doesn't quite deliver that smoky taste you'd get from charcoal.

The restaurant was extremely chaotic, servers had no idea what they were doing. No one came to take our order for over 15 minutes, we had to walk up to the server to order. 1 dish came after a while and the rest never came, multiple tables who came after us got their food, tables were getting the wrong items, people literally started getting up to refill their own water and side dishes. We eventually left after waiting for more than an hour and just paid for the 1 dish that was served and the beer that I got from the fridge and...

I would give 0 star if not for the atmosphere and friendly service.

They're extremely short-handed. Be ready to wait for your food for over 20 min and then you still need to cook them yourself.

The skewers themselves are dry and have no flavors at all. No way this place can compare with Xiao Chuan Dian, not to say Yangji (in my mind the best Chinese BBQ place in the neighborhood). They also use electric powered machines to cook the skewers. It's faster but takes away all the flavors...
