Skyview Motel — Hotel in Fort Lee

Terrible experience, unfortunate because I used to really like this place up until recently, as soon as me and my partner got into our room the first thing we noticed was an extremely dirty floor but we shrugged it off as it isn't uncommon for hotels to be dirty. Afterwards we took a nap, only to be woken up by (I'm assuming because the door was locked.) one of the employees barging into our room while we were half naked during check in hours. Complained to the receptionist yet nothing was done. The next day we decided to book another stay using the online app. Now the online app charged my card yet the receptionist claimed they didn't get the payment even though I clearly explained the situation and showed her the proof multiple times but she was too stubborn to understand what I was saying. I demanded to speak to the manager but they kept refusing and reiterating that there was "nothing we could do" so essentially they kicked us out and stole our money. The next day the receptionist called and admitted that they made a mistake and that they DID in fact receive the money. So I asked for a full refund since we didn't stay the second night regardless of paying. They told me that they couldn't. Yeah terrible customer service from people who can barely converse in english as well as not having the ability to listen and understand the complaints of the customer. I have all the proof, screenshots and bank statements to create my case and I know you have surveillance footage of the person barging into our room. . it’s an okay place for just a night or two. i stayed for 3 weeks cus ny hotels were too expensive. so this was my experience //

good: the bus stop is just behind the motel. the coffee in the reception was yummy and they had utensils and vending machines there. easy to check in and out. fridge had a little freezer in it. the tv is quite big for a motel lol

bad: they never cleaned once during my stay. the floor was very dirty when i first arrived and there were big stains on all kinds of places. my white socks turned black after walking around the room for 5 minutes. there were places in the floor were u cld literally see the ground. there were spiders and ants but luckily nothing bigger. the sink wouldnt stop dripping water even after i called for help. the walls are paperthin so u dont rly need tv to enjoy ur favorite drama shows👍 the cover for the bed had no sheet around it which felt unhygenic. it’s further away from the city than u think, took about an hour everyday into nyc (both w bus and car)

summary; its clearly not the fanciest place but i don’t expect that from any motel. if ur a broke youngster like me it works but in general id suggest saving up money for...

PLEASE BEWARE WE HAD A THEFT INCIDENT -We had a shocking experience at this motel, we had stayed at this place with our family for one night, the hotel door doesn't used to lock even after closing it, which means anyone can open your room even without the access card.

I had stepped out for just 4-5 mins to grab a coffee; my husband was having shower, within just that short time someone sneaked into our room and took all the cash worth more than $300 from both our wallets, we sensed the involvement of staff as the cards and phone kept next to wallet were left untouched and further there was a staff trying to talk and keep me involved which I realized later why. We reported the incident to the management, but they didn't do anything about reporting the theft or finding the reason why their hotel safety was compromised, we planned to involve cops but as we had a flight to catch couldn't do anything.

I would suggest please avoid this place as even inside of the room was visible from the windows as curtains weren't wide enough to cover the view. It's extremely unsafe considering any of us could had been harmed during night too! I MEAN LIFE MATTERS MORE AND WE ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE...
