Haos Noodles Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Palm Springs

My wife and I ate here back before the pandemic and found the food to be very average and the service very rude. We decided this past weekend to give them another try.

While there, we learned that the restaurant has new ownership/management and so this review is based on the most recent experience. I am logging 3 stars... but it is probably closer to 3 1/2 stars.

I ordered the chicken green curry and the overall flavor was pretty decent... but some of the ingredients weren't very fresh. The red peppers had those 'wrinkly' spots on them that they get as they begin to decay and there were brown 'spots' on a coupe of the sliced carrots.

My wife ordered the 'Ba Mee Moo Dang', which is a noodle based soup with roasted BBQ pork. It was supposed to include cilantro but there was no trace of it. I tried a taste of my wife's soup and was not impressed.

I will say that the service was good and friendly and that we received generous portions, so no complaints there. We ended up taking most of my wife's soup home but decided to just throw it out.

Also, our food came out super quick (maybe 5 minutes), and while that is appreciated, I always wonder how something can be cooked and plated that quickly. My impression was that the food was not freshly cooked.. but maybe reheated....

Update: I have ordered many many times and they are simply amazing. Every item on the menu is perfect! The veggies are always fresh and the meat is always tender. I've had many dishes from them. And the portion sizes are huge! I've hooked my family and friends as well. A must try even if you have to drive out of your way.

My first time ordering from this restaurant and my experience was delightful, when I called the lady was polite and concise. But more importantly the food was delicious! nothing was soggy or greasy! everything was flavorful and you fresh! I ordered chicken broccoli, the sauce was perfect and the broccoli was fresh! my husband had sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was moist and crunchy! I will be ordering from them again and again and again! only problem I had was they didn't bring me a menu to put...

This has been our favorite Chinese spot for years... HOWEVER, now that they have new owners and a different menu, it's absolutely AMAZING! Even the basic rice they serve on the side is a huge difference. Light, fluffy, with small shreds of carrots. This is no longer fast food Chinese delivery... it's next level with fresh ingredients, made to order. General Taos chicken is excellent. Duck dishes are amazing. We couldn't be happier about the change! We ordered night before last, ate left overs yesterday, and ordered AGAIN today!
